Which hisec game mechanics were circumvented? Did they somehow not lose their ships they used to gank to Concorde?

Damn nature, you scary!

Feel free to add questions that I may have missed.

1: Yes, the devs I am sure love EVE and care for it beyond just have a monthly paycheck, and probably like playing the game and interacting with the customers, in and out of game. As for the top brass, I think they like the profit more then the players.

2: N/A (though, how are anyone "circumventing" game mechanics?????)

3: All my petitions in EVE have been answered in a timely, and respectful manner. A hint to some folks, when you write a petition, don't be a douche.

4: 3

5: Yes.

6: I do not have a console, nor will get one. It might be a nice addition to EVE it it kicks off and players show interest (and it has a real and not just superficial impact on the EVE world)

7: I have not noticed anything, then again i live in ares not populated with whiny carebears.

8: Meh, I don't care too much, as long as nothing serious makes me lose my ships. EVE is a continually evolving game, deal with it (or would you rather have a static ****** game like WOW?)

Do you really think CCP cares about its customers other than thier monthly payment?

No. They are not a charity. Just like any other business they are there to make money. Of course if huge numbers started to unsub they would care why and try to figure out how to get them back as paying customers.

2. Carebears did you feel like CCP kicked you in the balls by allowing a corporation and its pirate thugs to circumvent high-sec game mechanics?

No. I'm not aware of anyone circumventing the game mechanics. Suicide ganking is part of the game.

3. Did your computer hamster die while waiting for CCP to answer a petition?

He was a little hungry but he survived

4. How many generations of your hamsters died while waiting for CCP to fix bugs that are over 5 years old?

I really haven't had many issues. I've heard others on TS having them so I think I've just been lucky.

5. Do you really think CCP is going to upgrade or fix anything that does not make it more money?

No. Again they are a business. They would be dumb to do something that isn't profitable. Of course improvements to the game keep people interested and subscribed.

6. How many of you really give a rats ass about DUST?

Not even part of one!

7. How many of you noticed the decline of players a month after thier 1/2 price activation for new players?

I don't really pay attention to that.

8. How many of you love being the guiney pigs for all of EVE so called upgrades?

I think they could do a better job of testing patches before they release them but it really doesn't bother me.

1. Do you really think CCP cares about its customers other than thier monthly payment? From the Dev interviews I've seen, yes.

2. Carebears did you feel like CCP kicked you in the balls by allowing a corporation and its pirate thugs to circumvent high-sec game mechanics? This is EVE, I would be misguided if I came into EVE expecting to be completely safe all the time.

3. Did your computer hamster die while waiting for CCP to answer a petition? They got back to me within a day. For reference Blizz took 1.5 weeks.

4. How many generations of your hamsters died while waiting for CCP to fix bugs that are over 5 years old? I just started playing so none.

5. Do you really think CCP is going to upgrade or fix anything that does not make it more money? CCP knows (vie surveys) the majority of players are solo PVE and yet they just put out Inferno which appeals to the core PVPers, think about it.

6. How many of you really give a rats ass about DUST? Unless it is used to implement WIS faster, none.

7. How many of you noticed the decline of players a month after thier 1/2 price activation for new players? I believe I'm to new for this as well.

8. How many of you love being the guiney pigs for all of EVE so called upgrades? It's an MMORPG, they all work this way.

Feel free to add questions that I may have missed.

I find it hilarious that so many people try to paint CCP as a SOE/EA/Blizz soulless money grabbing company. First off CCP is a company, the goal of a company is to expand and make money. CCP Knows they can't rely on EVE eternally so they HAVE to look into other revenue streams. As far as a company goes CCP has an open minded transparent business approach that I have yet to see in any other MMO company. Companies like Blizz have 0 customer interaction, they don't bother asking opinions, doing surveys, or posting on forums. They ignore, give strictly money driven content, and ignore again. CCP is a rarity, EA would lol at the very idea of a player council they fly in, dine, invite into the castle and show the secrets to. If you think otherwise your out of touch with how nasty most companies are now days. Call Blizz support any night of the week, I dare you (7 days, 1-3 hours a night on hold, 2 ignored petitions).

Oh I do agree with you there. CCP is a lot better than some other companies but that's only because they are smaller. Blizzard doesn't bat an eyelash if they lose 500,000 subscribers. CCP on the other hand would go broke.

1. Do you really think CCP cares about its customers other than thier monthly payment?
A: No but why would they? happy customers=more income. That's enough for any company.

2. Carebears did you feel like CCP kicked you in the balls by allowing a corporation and its pirate thugs to circumvent high-sec game mechanics?
A:No.

3. Did your computer hamster die while waiting for CCP to answer a petition?
A:No, I usually get very quick responses.

4. How many generations of your hamsters died while waiting for CCP to fix bugs that are over 5 years old?
A:0, forget the damn hamsters already.

5. Do you really think CCP is going to upgrade or fix anything that does not make it more money?
A: No, refer to 1.

6. How many of you really give a rats ass about DUST?
A: ME!

7. How many of you noticed the decline of players a month after thier 1/2 price activation for new players?
A: I did not notice this. I would like to see your data.

8. How many of you love being the guiney pigs for all of EVE so called upgrades?
A: Its guinea pig, and how do you propose they test it on mass scale?

P.S. I noticed a lot of rodent references in your post. Girbil much?

You and I are all guinea pigs for the whole of EVE. Nothing like EVE had been done before and afaikt nothing like it has emerged since. And EVE will never be bug free. If it was, it would mean we stopped experimenting. I for one hope that doesn't happen.

I'd much rather be quick and agile in fixing the breakage than waiting on perfection before releasing. This is of course a balancing act, but from where I'm sitting, I think we're doing it right. YMMV ofc and this is, like, ,my, just, you know, opinion...

Ooh, I love these!

1. Do you really think CCP cares about its customers other than thier monthly payment?
Considering their business is to entertain, I would say they care a great deal.

2. Carebears did you feel like CCP kicked you in the balls by allowing a corporation and its pirate thugs to circumvent high-sec game mechanics?
No one from CCP has ever stated that high sec was "safe," only "safer." However, the fact that they're redoing the mining barges means they acknowledge it's a little one-sided.

3. Did your computer hamster die while waiting for CCP to answer a petition?
Nope. Have had near-instant responses every time.

4. How many generations of your hamsters died while waiting for CCP to fix bugs that are over 5 years old?
The same amount that I've waited for any other game. Also, game development isn't easy.

5. Do you really think CCP is going to upgrade or fix anything that does not make it more money?
Considering they "fixed" the inventory, yes.

6. How many of you really give a rats ass about DUST?
There's a whole forum subsection of us. Comments on various media coverage suggest many non-EVE-types too.

7. How many of you noticed the decline of players a month after thier 1/2 price activation for new players?
Not me, but if you're looking for better numbers, go look around middle of last year.

8. How many of you love being the guiney pigs for all of EVE so called upgrades?
Love it. CCP is a unique company with a unique product. Half the reason I play is just to see what they'll come up with.

Now I have a few questions for you:

Did you eat today? Enough to satisfy your hunger?
Do you have a bed to sleep on tonight?
Are you unworried at what will happen if you get sick?
Do you have water easily accessible?
Do you see where I'm going with this?

Occasionally plays sober

Since the crap forum software only lets you quote five times in a post, I'll do these by the numbers.

Musashi IV wrote:

1. "CCP" is a corporation, a paper entity. It doesn't have feelings. Those running CCP are running a business; they do what's necessary to extend and grow the company. I'm sure some GMs and Devs give a crap, but getting them to honestly answer isn't going to happen publicly.

2. You must be new here... Roll

3. I don't have hamsters, ever since the incident in the 80's with the gerbil.

4. Only a child holds her/her breath waiting for something to happen. Much like gate campers.

5. Meh. See my answer to #1 above; let your brain ponder it.

6. Hmmm... Invest a few hundred bucks in a console that I'll then have to pay for the game for also? Um, no.

7. Didn't notice, don't care. It doesn't affect my life whatsoever considering I'm not a shareholder in CCP Games (or whatever the corp is called).

8. I love reading the pathetic clueless posts whiners tend to put up here. Like the OP. I sometimes love reading them when I'm not so disgusted with humanity as a result of the SHEER STUPIDITY of said posts.

1. Do you really think CCP cares about its customers other than thier monthly payment?
-I think a lot of the devs care about there customers however like any buisness the managment i do not believe could give a rats arse aslong as they get there income.

2. Carebears did you feel like CCP kicked you in the balls by allowing a corporation and its pirate thugs to circumvent high-sec game mechanics?
-Dont frequent highsec so cant really comment however I strongly believe that industrial based ships (specially T2) should have more defence against some nob-end in a 2mill isk dessie

3. Did your computer hamster die while waiting for CCP to answer a petition?
-Depends. I have been answered once or twice on a petition the following day however it has taken weeks on other petitions, Needs more consistancy to comment

4. How many generations of your hamsters died while waiting for CCP to fix bugs that are over 5 years old?
-Well due to lack of funds my hamsters last 4-5 years so... One.

5. Do you really think CCP is going to upgrade or fix anything that does not make it more money?
-Yes. Everything for the last 9 years with the exeption of the nex store was changed without the premise of profit

6. How many of you really give a rats ass about DUST?
-I would be a die hard supporter of it... if it had a planned PC release. Otherwise im off to go play planetside 2 for a few months Twisted

7. How many of you noticed the decline of players a month after thier 1/2 price activation for new players?
-A little bit

8. How many of you love being the guiney pigs for all of EVE so called upgrades?
-Nope. CCP has never listened to sisi feedback and i cant see that changing in the near future.

1. Do you really think CCP cares about its customers other than thier monthly payment? Yes. This is a small game, there have been many problems involving devs caring way too much about the game.

2. Carebears did you feel like CCP kicked you in the balls by allowing a corporation and its pirate thugs to circumvent high-sec game mechanics? I ain't a carebear, but I loved Burn Jita and Hulkageddon (and FW-gate)

3. Did your computer hamster die while waiting for CCP to answer a petition? Nah. They get back to me ok.

4. How many generations of your hamsters died while waiting for CCP to fix bugs that are over 5 years old? Heh, they finally gave me missile launchers. I'm ok with 'em.

5. Do you really think CCP is going to upgrade or fix anything that does not make it more money? Yes. I feel that they care about the quality of their product and the opinions of their gamers. If you don't, you haven't played any other games or at least payed attention to dev responses in other games...

6. How many of you really give a rats ass about DUST? I could give a large number of rat's asses about DUST. It sounds awesome, and the cross-game meta is amazing. I cannot wait.

7. How many of you noticed the decline of players a month after thier 1/2 price activation for new players? I did not.

8. How many of you love being the guiney pigs for all of EVE so called upgrades?

I enjoy being a part of the most dynamic, ever changing community in gaming.

I meant all of that. But CCP, **** you for screwing over the goons. They worked their asses off to do something awesome. You think they didn't already have enough money to buy half of EVE? They did it to make YOUR game better, and punishment for it sucks.

I'll let CCPs Wrangler and Soundwave handle this for me.

CCP Wrangler wrote:
EVE is a dark and harsh world, you're supposed to feel a bit worried and slightly angry when you log in, you're not supposed to feel like you're logging in to a happy, happy, fluffy, fluffy lala land filled with fun and adventures, that's what hello kitty online is for.

CCP Soundwave wrote:
I was about to say “Here’s a Rubik’s cube, go f%$^ yourself,” because that’s what we do with EVE Online.

Now I'll ask a question.

9. Why do carebears insist on playing a game which has fundamental principles that they don't like?
9b. Why do they feel entitles to change those principles just because they dislike them?
