I didn't tear up at all.

Was kinda sad though. I hope things get better.

I liked this video from the same site.

First problem with the vid - if the dad is deaf, how did he hear the daughther "thud"-ing in the bathroom ? Ok, maybe you can say he felt the vibrations, but still, how did he know it's from THAT ?
Second, this is more an issue of children bullying other children for stupid stuff, not so much about the kid not coping with the dad.
Third, the kid is kind of dumb and/or lazy. Reading/writing may not be quite the same as talking, but there's nothing wrong with that.
Fourth, if you have a deaf parent, you should be at least as courteous as to freakin' learn sign language too. If anything, you can even blame the DAD for not teaching it to the kid !

That vid made me angry, not sad.
Plus, seriously, life insurance commercial ?

More like "I don't buy it" or "at least partially self-inflicted".
But I guess everybody can have whatever opinion they like, including opinions about other people's opinions.

Ok, THAT one, it did cause some tearing.
It didn't have any of the obvious flaws of the one in the OP to detract from the story.
It wasn't a willingly self-induced trauma, it was an accident, and it would have had a high degree of happening regardless of the family relation status (it was a work accident).

did you watch the entire video?
also, so far none of these have made me tear up. the first one, I kind of had a similar issue with it as akita T did. the second one, they're getting past a brief lapse in family cooperation, and the third one I've seen before from the recruiter for the school where that was made.

None of these got me. I'm a father of 2. What DID get me was watching my daughter at 3 years old have a 32" TV cover her whole upper body. I thought she was dead, luckily not, she was just fine. My son at 3 months old started seizures. To this day we don't know what caused them, he did grow out of them. But that scared the hell out of me, and at THAT I still tear up sometimes remembering the anguish that caused. Maybe it's just a disconnect with someone on a TV.

First one wasn;t really sad and was a bit more about personality issues.
Second one made me cry, that was really sad.
Third one made no sense. Why was he nailing a tree to the cliff?

Wow, what a cynical kind of adverting. Disgusting really. Sure, the clips were touching, but one got to ask oneself, was not that the entire point? To get to your emotional side just to sell you some bullshit? Disgusting.

In actuality, isn't that what ALL adverts do? Appeal to you in some way, especially if they can, emotionally?

Yes, and I think all ads are disgusting. Thank Odin for Ad Block+. I have not had a TV the last ten years either, further reducing the numbers of ads I see.
