Political maneuvering is a big part of the game for a lot of people. Sorry if you don't like that. Miners have been doing it more insidiously by going after the Devs (see the many, many nerfs made at miners' behest).

Yeah we know the many CSM miners representatives personally pressuring the Devs, the many former goonminers developers, the 3rd party miners forums. We see the constant organized miners huge alliances sperging on the forums, the organized miners ebil armies roflstomping civil rights.

Oh wait, only time you even see any miners are when you gank some of them and they create a cry post on the forums.

Miners seem to have been doing pretty well getting HS aggression nerfed for them without organizing. Primarily by crying on the forums.

You really believe that 2-3 morons crying on the forums made CCP nerf boomerang and similar?

I strongly believe this. So much so, that I shall now slap you in the face with a glove. En guarde.

Nope, but miners are now more protected than any other time in the history of EVE.

By the way guys, the solution to hisec local is to build a contact list. Find out who your people are and turn em navy blue, find out who doesn't seem to be an issue and turn em baby blue, find out who is bad and turn em blood red. After a while you'll have intel that's roughly equivalent to nullsec.

That actually would mean some organization. That's too much effort and would actually lower the profit of possible 150m per hour in hisec.

Forum complaints won't die, because if the duck cannot swim, she blames the water. Always.

Not even incursions granted sustained 150M per hour.

I've only seen maybe 3 or 4 "I quit" posts in the past 3 months that got any attention in GD. That's assuming that they were from actual miners and not just troll posts.

All of the other posts that were mining related were about highsec miner hate, propaganda, sandbox playstyles, and trolls looking for tears.

IMO, CCP listens to canceled subs, which includes a "Why did you quit?" questionnaire.

Ironically, I think all of this ganking is the driving force behind the changes that the so called "miner haters" are against, not the miners themselves.

It's like hunting a specific species of bird, if a few people are doing it it's fine. Once you get a few thousand people doing it, the bird becomes rare, which causes the government (CCP) to step in and create laws (nerfs) that prevent those hunters (gankers) from killing off the bird.

Maybe CCP did not intend to make a whole category of players a pure loot pinata?

and they didn't. goons did with rewards for ganking miners.

if goons were offering rewards for ganking golems or ravens etc then i'm sure mission runners would be said loot pinatas instead.

Highsec miners have always been a juicy target, this isn't anything new, hulkageddon just increased the amount of ganking.

can't say i've ever seen any one trying to suicide gank until hulkageddon rolled around. *shrug*

You know why they're blamed? Because highsec miners, just like other highsec carebears, are bad for the game.

Highsec is supposed to be the tutorial area, with the least risk but also the lowest rewards. There should be absolutely zero profit for veteran players in highsec. If you have the skills to fly a Hulk, you should be forced to move to lowsec or 0.0 to get any money. You should NOT be given a nice gank-free AFK income source like highsec miners demand.

Hulkageddon should be impossible for the simple reason that there are no Hulks in highsec, and therefore nothing to suicide gank besides a handful of tutorial players mining in their frigates.

You are simply expressing your opinion and implying that it was a prerequisite of game development. Dr. Phil would have a good time shattering your delusions.

We did, and made threads about it to help the gamkers and the gankees. The gankee's amazingly didn't listen.

The Boomerang's been known and legal since the first CONCORD buff (when they stopped being tankable). It just wasn't used much because insurance let you use big hulls with cheap guns.

The insurance nerf brought Boomeranging into vogue and the miners started crying.

Boo hoo, CCP has hystograms and data for everything even about how often you brown nose null sec alliances. They don't need to smell the odor, they have DATA and statistics.
If they see a strange increase somewhere they investigate on the causes and eventually intervene.

Boomerang like many "old time tricks" was fine as long as it was something done by few. Once a trick becomes super mainstream and the invevitable dumbass posts a whole manual about how to do it on GD (which happened), then CCP nerfs it.

Of course that got it nerfed, but ask any hater, and it's the highsec miner who ruined everything and got it nerfed Big smile

It depends on where you mine in highsec. I'm guessing you spent most of your time in Amarr space, or some low traffic system.
