Drake Wormhole Fit Questions

Hi there,

Returning newbie here. I originally wanted to train into Gallente ships and drones, but as I found out, drones are less than ideal for wormhole PVE. So, I took a bit of a break to play skill-queue online for a while, and now I'm able to fit a mostly T2 Drake.

I struggled to arrive at a fit due to CPU restrictions. I wanted a prop mod for missioning, but as I found out, I didn't have enough CPU for an extra hardener, or grid for an LSE anyway. I also had to compromise on the lows, unable to fit a second BCS. I should be able to fit one by the time Weapon Upgrades V finishes, but questions remain.

My current fit:

Highs:
Heavy Missile Launcher II x7

Meds:
10MN Afterburner II
Large Shield Extender II
Large Shield Extender II
Hardeners x3

Lows:
Power Diagnostic System II
Shield Power Relay II
Shield Power Relay II
Ballistic Control System II

Rigs:
Medium Core Defense Field Purger I x3

Drones:
Hobgoblin II x5

Relevant Skills:
Electronics V
Engineering V
Weapon Upgrades IV
Shield Upgrades IV

This leaves me with 8.0 CPU / 57.6 Power.

When I finish Weapon Upgrades V, and replace the PDS with a second BCS II, I should have ~3 CPU / 4.5 Power (I think).

If I remove the Afterburner, I'm left with ~28 CPU / 59.5 Power.

This is not enough to expand on! Ideally I want to join a WH corp. What should I do about the empty high slot, and the replacement for the afterburner? I admit I'm horrible at maths, but it doesn't seem to me I'm going to be able to fit a probe launcher AND something useful in the last med slot (LSE / Transporter / Target Painter).

It's got me wondering... have I overlooked something? A CPU reduction skill I'm not aware of? Implants? Do I need to use a CPU rig?

Also, is the probe launcher required for every ship if you're living in a WH? Do I have to go with T1 launchers to fit 3x BCS II's?

What's YOUR Drake WH fit like?

Thanks for reading!

Here is a simple omni fit:

[Drake, Lowend WH Drake]
Ballistic Control System II
Ballistic Control System II
Beta Reactor Control: Shield Power Relay I
Beta Reactor Control: Shield Power Relay I

Large Shield Extender II
Large Shield Extender II
10MN Afterburner I
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
EM Ward Field II

Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile
Core Probe Launcher I, Sisters Core Scanner Probe I

Medium Core Defense Field Purger I
Medium Core Defense Field Purger I
Medium Core Defense Field Purger I

If you are going to run sites, add a salvager somewhere. And yes, unless you have another ship/corp mate inside you need a probe launcher.

a cap recharger gives more effective omnitank than an EM hardener and is easier on the cap. if you have good shield skills, you can drop one shield power relay for another BCU. if you are too tight on CPU, you can disable the probe launcher, you will not need it in combat. aside from these points, the above build is fine. if you do not have Advanced Weapon Upgrades yet, you can downsize one shield extender to meta4 and switch the other one for a shield recharger.

I should buy an Ishtar.

Out of curiosity,

when you say cap recharger, is that a suggestion geared towards keeping the invulns running better once the neuting starts, or was that supposed to be a shield charger in place of the EM (and possibly a second later, though I dunno about 3 purgers/2 chargers with only one extender in place)?

by cap recharger i meant shield recharger Oops

edit: two extenders are better of course but OP does not have AWU, so the PG is probably too tight for them

I should buy an Ishtar.
