Red/green colourblindness and scanning

OK probably a bit of a minority topic here but anyone who is also a bit colourblind will know that scanning (especially combat scanning) is very hard. For me the trouble is when you have a poor return shown as a red sphere or dot which I have to stare very hard at to see it.

If any devs read this, how difficult would it be to make the colours used in scanning changable so I could alter the red to, for instance, bright yellow so I can see it?

Perhaps this is possible already in which case Id love to know how.

Any feedback much appreciated.

i second this. alternate color selections. i hate the little incomplete squares that show up at the low percents. impossible to see.

Totally support this, recent blog post on the subject here too with comment from some others colourblind afflicted. Whilst no-one is a great fan of ECM I beleive that's a total nightmare for those with colour blindness too.

Anything which makes it easier for those with colorblindness is a +1 from me.

Although it would be nice to be able to toggle it.

R/G Color blindness is so common. Id love to be able to select what colors ships/objects etc.. show up via the overview menu. Default to red/green, but make it alterable.

Seems this is more common than I thought, how do we get a dev to see this?

Im sure it would be pretty simple to have a couple of options for the scan colours.

i always thought it would make sense to change not only the color, but also the symbol used for scans of increased quality.

is this "only" a problem of red/yellow/green being hard to distinguish, or are some colors hard to pick out from the darker background as well?

I agree with you. It may not be only a problem of/for colour blindness, it also could be a problem that some settings are in conflict with these heraldic laws.
For example, it is much easier for humans to differ coloured chalk on a green blackboard then on a black blackboard.
For this purpose the option to differ some background colours in the settings could be quit usefull.

I have to wear colored lens to block blue as much as possible due to narcolepsy being triggered by certain blues. This makes every thing tented yellow. things like red I dont have a problem with, but with the default color of the overview targets being yellow, its harder for me to catch them.

What im saying is I do understand and do think they should have all colors in the game with a default, but have them changeable.
