Hi.

Not here to *****, rather get a clarification on whether it's an exploit or not. I'm getting very conflicting reports from players and GMs.

For those who don't know, here's the situation..

1) Player A is camping a gate (usually a highsec gate in lowsec).
2) Player B comes along and starts fighting Player A.
3) Player A suddenly decides that he doesn't particularly enjoy PvP and wants to disengage.
4) Player A warps a neutral Orca alt to the gate from somewhere else in the system.
5) Player A stores his ship inside the Orca's bay.
6) Player A instantly warps off in his pod. The Orca jumps to highsec.

Works the same way on stations with carriers. I was fairly certain that this is an exploit, but my petition resulted in a 'working as intended'. So which is it?

Cowardly? Yes.
Exploit? No.

This is what those fellas in Amamake call "elite pvp".

Aaaaaah! So that's what that Orca was doing on a gate in low sec when we bumped it off and raped it with a couple of Blasterthrons.

I must say we were bemused...

If the Orca is pointed, nothing can dock in it? Really? :o

Bunch of us Squids were trying to kill their Proteus (amongst other things) and we had him pointed, he put his toy ship away then legged it in his pod. Was the most boring fight I've ever been in.

When they are in system I just avoid them now really. Not PvP, just amazing trolling :D

I've never once seen or heard of that happening.

Which is surprising because I live in highsec where people do all kinds of stupid horseshit to avoid getting blown up.

why do i have the feeling if we say yes it works that you will do it.

btw i would do the following You A me B


A: camps the gate
B: i warp to get and try to kill you
B: i win
A: you warp in your oca
B: i keep scram on you and bump your Orca off
A: you are shitting your self
B: I kill you
A: you Rage cry on forums

The only way to win this fight is to go global on the orca and force it to highsec while you keep the campers scrammed on the gate. Then kill the campers. If you wish to do this successfully though you need to have someone gank the alt that is watching the highsec side of the gate first so that they don't know a fleet is coming to get them.

I would use a pincer attack to be honest. Send in some highly tanked bait to pin them and shoot the orca and then jump the rest of the fleet in from highsec.

Highsec pvp is more of a game of "Who has the most neutral rep alts." Whereas highsec gate camping is a game of who has the most neutral orcas.

This is boring. I was expecting to hear an epic tale of using bait Orcas to get kills. This thread did not deliver.
