LP can be a now and again thing, as can dealing with a mineral stack ;-)

But really give the miners a more adventurous rewarding (but with more risk) option.

Did you...just...did you...really...oh my...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

*gasp*

Highsec miners do NOT make a lot of isk. Incursions *did* once upon a time, and that got properly nerfed.

By 10%?

You can call it not a big income all you want, but the ISK amounts in game are still grossly inflated. And the only difference I noticed with incursions is people don't wanna fly em anymore because they actually believe they have been nerfed. Which is funny cause they're still paying 10 mil per quick site, just like before. Only now they're easier to run. So.......

.....what exactly is the nerf to incursions?

FT Diomedes: "Reaver, sometimes I wonder what you are thinking when you sit down to post."

Frostys Virpio: "We have to give it to him that he does put more effort than the vast majority in his idea but damn does it sometime come out of nowhere."

Making the sites 2 to 3 x as long, effectively halving income or worse depending on the fleet. The 10% nerf on top of that was inconsequential comparatively. This is possibly why CCP gave (most of) it back. the sites themselves still take comparatively longer.

Not saying they don't. I still like them quite a bit and feel quite well compensated for my participation. But they aren't just a strait 10% nerf compared to pre-escalation.

Yes this is another High sec miner post but from a miners point of view. Us miners don’t get a lot of tears from other players unless it’s a failed gank and the gankers cry in local that its not fair that concord blew them up but it happens. One other way we get to feed on tears is the forum oh the awesome forum posts of characters like James 312 or something like that....... I wonder if all the players who post on these forums realize that when they cry about high sec miners they are actually feeding us tears while we laugh at them from our cozy little space guarded by concord.I am actually writing this as I mine since AFK mining is the way to go IMO.

Lets see I usually play another game or finish some financials from work or even play with my daughters while I mine but in the end I make bank no matter what happens to my ship :) I recently commented on a post about miners and ganking and I agree with some of the comments such as hoping that all the miners ragequit. That would be awesome as that just leaves more roids for us AFK miners because the damn belts were empty last night so I had to go mine ice.
In all honesty hulkageddon has been great for sales keep blowing up those ships some of us are actually making a profit.

I see only 2 reasons for the hate towards miners.
1. jealousy This is simple, there is a group of players who make alot of isk with no risk and its perfectly legal so ganker says thats not fair I should be able to do that also...well guess what you can and most likely do but dont tell anyone that you do.

2. Boredom Low and null sec has become blob heaven or just too much risk for a solo miner.

I would discuss bots but I dont use them and those that do take the ultimate risk IMO because they risk getting banned (how many PVPers would still PVP if the ban hammer was hanging over them but they could make a ton of isk and a generally short time period hmmmm.).

In conclusion you can troll this post make fun of my grammar and typos or touch yourself I dont really care and thats what everyone needs to understand, Miners dont give a flying monkeys ass if you cry about them its like standing in the middle of the forest all by yourself and yelling I hate everyone. who gives a @#$%. Keep buying our stuff on the market though please we do appreciate your business.

Please continue to cry about miners on the forums its great reading when im stuck at work.

Why? Other PvP games let you be totally AFK and earn "points" (XP or RP or whatever is the game level up currency) just by being parked in a corner somewhere near battle objectives. You don't even have to ever move.

Other games let you level up to max just by setting up a macro letting the low level character kill high level characters (a macro resses them) for 2-3 days straight.

EvE != Other Games.
EvE also has more subscribers than the vast majority of Other Games.

Perhaps those are related. Blink

Yes having 22k people online for most of the day (37-38k on prime time) makes EvE a mammoth in the industry.
Even a pure piece of garbage like SW:Tor has more.

There are 2 paid Western MMOs with more subs than EvE. There is 1 paid non-Western MMO with more subs than EvE.

SWOTOR might have some unfair advantage over EvE (Hint: The biggest multimedia franchise around), WoW is run by Gaming Jesus (Blizzard), and I've never understood Aion (but [Korea]).

There are also 2 FTP games with more subs than EvE, Runescape and SecondLife. But then, FTP Roll

That's it. EvE's pretty close to the top of the Heap in the MMO world.

Since when you need "skill" to play EvE? Had EvE had true twitch PvP, line of sight, terrain elevation tactics and so on, then it would. As of now all the skill you need is to press F1 F2 F3.

LOL

I see someone has yet to learn how to PvP, otherwise they would know (depending on the ship you fly) there's more skill than turning on your guns.

"line of site" tells me they probably play WoW or other such MMO and makes me laugh when they talk about "skill"

just wanted to add that the gentleman OP was refering to is not james 312 but james 315.

james 3-12: Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.

james 3-15: This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

if someone says line of sight they are a wow player?

i think you need to get out more. if satellites need line of sight to send a signal around the world. they must be sending wow signal111111111oneone

my personal experience was this.

see big battles on eve websites, get one shot ganks at jumpgates or one shotted while mining instead.

basically the potential (the videos on the website) of even being massive fleet battles and good pvp that makes your skin tingle will never ever be reached. even after trying for 9 years.

you want to shape this game into grief skirmishes and gang kills on unarmed vessels. that is basically all eve is. thats what everyone wants eve to be, none of you appear to want a decent fight.

that stinks of no skill, but grief mechanics.

SWTor has the worst unfair disadvantage of all: it's published by EA. That alone makes sure it will fail.

Also I know where you are taking your numbers from: a source that misses some MMOS. IE Entropia Universe had 500k subs years ago, is still expanding, has an hybrid model and... it's not even listed over there.

Finally, your "FTP" vs "old model" just shows some companies are left with old business models while the rest of the world are moving on towards an hybrid of FTP and RMT.

WoW is not a PvP game, so your argument is totally void. Plenty of PvP games that are not WoW and where you have actually to know how to micro manage, how to position in the right place, how to stay within buffs range, how to block enemies and so on.

That's vastly harder to pull off than orbiting and manually clicking (clickers = generally bad players) to adjust transversal or cut trajectories.

Yes FTP must be bad.

As shown by this.

World of Tanks holds a Guinness World Record in the category of Most Players Online Simultaneously on one MMO Server, although its specific genre remains disputable. The record was registered on January 23, 2011 when the number of players on the game’s Russian server totaled 91,311.[9] This record was beaten by the European server on 13 April 2012 during the anniversary special weekend where all players could after entering a code be a Premium account holder for a day. Numbers of over 105,000 were recorded during this period.

Sure you can debate how mmo it is. I wouldnt disagree. apparantly a deathmatch 15 v 15 basic FTP arcade game has 3-4x as many people playing it, as eve. and that is just on a european region.

this game is filled with multiple accounts, station only accounts and all the people who want a game they can grief in. because not many games like this are around anymore (i wonder why)

really, how about getting over yourselves and how amazing eve is and start doing something to keep people playing. because there is a whole lot of room for improvement there. dont ya think?

I have taken part in battles involving thousands for 6 years now. You need to leave high sec fot this kind of thing.
