Running one EVE client installation in two instances

Hi,

I consider to re-activate my second account. Only thing I really don't like is the hassle handling/updating two client installations. I don't care if settings are shared or logs are mixed up. So is it possible to start one installation a second time?

Many thanks for any hint.

Yes, two ways.

Just open the launcher. It will start a second instance when you hit "play". Here the issue is the two may clash over the prefs file once in awhile. Does not happen often, usually causes a crash.

Download the eve clone maker. It runs fast, makes a clone that looks like a second client download without all the issues of having two full clients. This works quite well. When a patch comes through, you run the main client first and the patch is used by all the clones without you having to do a thing.

I tried this. The launcher disappears after hitting "play". Is there a setting to keep it open so I can launch another client? Didn't find an option for it in launcher settings.

Launch EVE Online again, and you'll get another launcher.

Be warned that the problems doing this have been more pernicious for me than they have for Vincent. Put bluntly: How many times do you want to rebuild your Overview?
