I’m somewhat new to the game, but I’m new to PVP. I have a couple of questions… I’m only talking about low sec PVP, I’m not trying to grief in high sec.

  1. Do most people pod kill when PVP’ing?
  2. When don’t you take a security standing hit for pod killing? I really don’t want my concord security status to get too far out of wack.

1.) Yes at least if they are fast enough to lock the pod...especially since pods have killmails

2.) I guess if you pod someone that is either -10.0 or someone you are at war with (do not really know about the latter one) you wont get a sec fine.

if you don't want to be a dirty -10 pirate don't kill the pods, just the spaceships.

  • Depends on if they want to be flashy or not. If you spam warp, you should get your pod out fine regardless

  • Only when the pod is less then -5.0 sec status do you not take a sec status hit, if I recall correctly. You can kill a fair few ships before starting to really impact your sec status, but a few pod kills will lower you real fast.

Send me 250mil and I will show you how to be a really good PvPer.

When Bon Scott died and he appeared before St. Peter at the gates of Heaven, St. Peter looked at his record and told him he couldn't get in. Just then, God screams at Peter, "Let him in, Karen Carpenter is driving me nuts. I want to hear some music with balls. We'll haggle over the paperwork later." At least I hope that's what happened.

If you are going to pvp in low sec you will likely fall below -5 fairly quickly. We have guys that have gone from 0 to -5 in a single roam without podding anyone. You may be able to maintain a higher sec status but you will be giving up many potential fights/targets.

You have a couple of options:

    1. Join FW and shoot opposing pilots for no sec loss
    2. Stay neutral and only shoot flashy reds
    3. Say to hell with sec status, train a hauler alt for a few hours and give up high sec

Personally I say go with #3

As far as podding goes, I am -10 and everyone I meet tries to pod me. Almost every time I can get away and have yet to lose a really expensive clone. The few clones I have lost are due to stupid mistakes like trying to jump through a gate after I explode instead of warping off.

    1. I can't tell for others but I always try to kill a pod. They are usually far more expensive kills than ship kill itself, plus I'm corpse collector
and I'm constantly looking for fresh meat. ( 186 podkills done so far all in lowsec Big smile )
    2. I don't care bout sec status...

I would say that Eve begins when you hit -10, but it's up to you on which side of food chain you would like to be.
