Other funny story: I create a Hardcore character and run through the first levels. Uber-lag comes and makes me run around in an empty room for 5 minutes - except: It wasn't empty. Enemies just didn't show up. When they finally loaded I died the next second. So much for my Hardcore character. Didn't make it to level 7.

tl; dr: Diablo 3 sucks and the Always-Online-DRM WITH LATENCY sucks even more.

Such a crappy game tbh.

I loved D2 but haven't played it for years, knew D3 was coming out for a long time, didn't really follow much of it, even got invited to the beta but didn't want to see it to ruin the game, played it on release (well, after the constant battle to actually, you know, play, which I expected, so if I expected it, how come Blizzard didn't and make sure it didn't happen?) played for a few days, got through a few difficulty levels, got so bored of the repetitive crap and haven't picked it up since.

For a game that's suppose to be about farming, there's zero real farming and instead buying crap off the AH.

that, and it hasn't evolved one bit. It's still a 15 year old game that's not even that great graphics.

Still, my opinion an all. Others like it I guess.

I loved D3 SO MUCH until i hit Inferno. Now theres no Pvp/ladders/arena so theres no motivation, and my class as a WD is just broken, so i never play anymore.

Game was a letdown.

Im so sad =(

Unfortunately, one cannot expect anything else form big publishers these days. To them, D3 is just another money making machine, no real love for the game, or any desire to innovate. Just sticking to the same old formula with an known name in order to make as much money as possible as quick as possible. And just lol at the whole auction house thing, what an obvious money grab at the expense of their fans, disgusting. With such a level of disrespect towards the fans, I am actually surprised they got the following they did.

The really good games these days are made by smaller indie developers. They actually make games because they want to make good games, and they want to mix it up an innovate. And better yet, you often get a chance to converse directly with the developers, and listen to them talk about the how and why. I am already in the credits list of one pretty cool game (AI War: Fleet Command), and the options to really involve yourself at a deeper level are quite often there in smaller games.

My ex thought that CCP could be doing the same thing.

Using spawned ISK to buy up plex to increase the price and prevent stockpiling and raising the price. The rational being it keeps the price high enough to prevent lower earning players from switching to plex, keeps the sale prices high enough that it is worth people buying them and they would only lose a few of the non paying subs (IE Grinders but no money since the peple who buy the plex's get paid.) but not that many since most would grind harder or just go back to paying subscription.

Anyway you slice it it would be a smart strategy until you get caught.

He assumes that he's being smart, when in reality, it's far from it. By his logic everyone farms to put items on the AH, which just isn't the case. People kill random mobs and get random loot and stick it on the AH. If people farm stuff they are usually after a specific item (Hence pretty much the term coined for it. "Oh man, I need 100 leather straps to fix my bondage gear, now I need to go farm it". People like me, pick up a ton of gear while just generally playing through the levels (Not farming) and whack it up for sale. That's exactly why I said there's zero REAL farming.

It's also been suggested numerous times that there's a system in place that gives your class a much lower drop chance (true or not I don't know). For example, a bunch of threads stating that all they get is demon hunter loot, while demon hunters state all they get is wizzard loot, etc etc, which would make farming for your items pretty pointless when you can just buy stuff of the AH. So then you farmed for the money? No, I made the money from picking up random loot I didn't want and stuck it on the AH.

It's a pointless game. Farming in itself is an issue for some (I however quite like it) but just buying what you need on the AH isn't fun. The fun thing on D2 was trading with other people (At least imo)

Your definition of farming is not the end of the subject. Farming is not just going out and looking for a specific item, a-la farming profession materials in warcraft. If you're doing anything in D3 for loot, you're farming. Whether you're progressing the skeletal plot to keep the scenery new, you're still looking for drops, ergo, farming.

I dare say if anyone on inferno claims to have never farmed, they're lying between their teeth to either justify the hours they sink into the game or the money they paid for it. Luckily I never paid a penny more for D3 than I would have had I not got it. Yay Annual pass and stupid blizzard marketing.


I will say, though, the one thing I really do not understand about the latest patch. They've stated numerous times all over and been lambasted for it, that they do not want boss runs- however when people realised this and started running area's with high chances at Goblins and Resplendent Treasure chests, they started nuking down the spawn rate of them, and in this latest patch made magic & gold find not affect chests. GG. You just removed the one well thought out farming technique that actually added any depth of strategy to farming routes. Hunting out chest locations, finding some fortune shrines, getting your five stacks and then when the coast is clear pop the shrine and route to the chests while its buff was up.

So now people are just plotting routes through entire acts as to which areas have the highest density of Champion/Rare spawns, and Blizzards response is, once again, to start nerfing spawn rates from what I've read over on the D3 forums.

If anyone had any doubts about D3 and where Blizzards priority was even now [protip: rmah], it should be dispelled pretty damn soon. It's clear Blizzard does not want people to be self sufficient no matter how much effort they go to, and the gold AH whilst acceptable on its own has been deserted by buyers.

I enjoy D3 with my friends that play, but that is solely because I got it at no extra cost.

You're a prime ******* example of what is wrong with some people who are criticizing Diablo 3 for all the wrong reasons. Diablo 3 looks absolutely nothing like warcraft and if you further challenge me on this I'll take comparison screenshots to show you myself with both games at full settings.

I feel it needed to raise a point. Activision Blizzard is no different from Vivendi Blizzard, as Vivendi still holds the majority stake in Activision Blizzard [And is actually considering selling Activision Blizzard, apparently.]

But hey, Lets hate on something because it has Activision's name on it. And don't even bring Vanilla WoW into this.

The problem with D3 seems to be more accurately centered on Jay, who's an absolute **** of the lowest degree, and seems to think his idea of fun is universal.
