Anyone else notice how all the hoopla (always wanted to use that word) about the Goons and their "alleged" exploit / game mechanic / market manipulation has been pushed to the back of general discussion by all the locked threads and posts about locked threads? (Wow - that's a lot for one sentence)

SO -

Conspiracy?
Some behind the scene power controlling the news flow?
Goon spin campaign by burying the issue?
CCP trying to bury the issue?
Chribba aka "Puppet Master" programming us on what to think? Big smile (sorry Chrib, you're too famous)
The Illuminati?

Why would they want to do this?
What purpose?
Where will it end?
Will ISD ever not lock a thread?
When will I be allowed back into Turkey? (It was just 1 dead hooker, a shotgun and a chicken, it could happen to anyone)
How many posts until this one is locked?

Also, where's our promised(?) devblog on the issue and its resolution? Is the investigation still in progress?

Blame the ISDs.

Also, we will have an ISD Seminar about the CCL team in the coming weeks in which you can ask your questions about the CCL team and provide some constructive feedback to us." - Countless pages of locked threads and numerous permabanned accounts later, change is coming.

I use the word hoopla all the time. My grandson Jimmy think's its funny but I told him that back in the day it was more of a common word. When we were kids we would try to make up words and stuff but it never sounded very good you see and nothing ever seemed to catch on. Now a days, someone can come along and make a song and say a funny word and then next thing you know everyones sayin it. Odd how that works.

I find it strange that there seems to be a direct correlation between attempts to moderate the forums and the amount of shiptoasting going on... You'd think it would be getting lower but...

The tinfoil is strong in this one

but yeah the goons exploiting fw, the shite wardec mechanics, etc are all things that are more important than pathetic volunteer power-grabbers I mean professional grown up forum moderator volunteers

so you don't consider the goons exploiting FW in such an obvious way that it couldn't possibly go unnoticed a good thing for the eve community?

I guess it would have been better for random corps and players to exploit the mechanic for months on end until someone posts a threadnaught exposing it?

frankly I feel this was a direct and valid tactic to prevent an exploitable mechanic from festering on TQ

or did I fail sarcasm school?

My guess is, the Goons were really a non issue. A few actually cared and made a fuss, the rest were bored. Then something more important happened. Or... we are just still bored and wanted something new to discuss/complain about.
