Personally I think the best way to combat intolerance and derogatory terms is to put a humorous spin on them because once that happens, they lose that stigmatizing meaning and effect.

Threatening people with courses of actions of all kinds for using slurs in a cheeky way is just dumb.

It’s hard to take accusations of anti-Semitism seriously nowadays since (unfortunately) they have basically become a synonym for anti-Zionism. Or just piss-poor ad hominem attempts by horrible people like Ben Stein. You can blame ones like him who misuse this term on a daily basis: You don’t agree with someone who has a Jewish background? The reason for being offended by terms such as 'jewbal', etc., is that it represents a loss of power. When the general public was okay with jokes about the ***[1] in mainstream media, it indicated that the ***'s power and influence were no more.

With people throwing 'jew' around to indicate successful wealth creation, Jews as a whole are losing their "special" (for lack of a better term) status in history. It's human nature to resent a loss in status, even when it means society is moving beyond the initial cause of that status such as anti-semitism or the holocaust.

I think you're just latching on to the term that's most offensive to you. I've seen every insult & racial slur possible in this game, being called a jew is just one in the vast array of un-politically correct phrases that get thrown around. Just don't take it personally.
