As I asked before in the test server feedback, but got no response: what is the purpose behind doubling the Rifter's size with the Minmatar V3? It is nearly destroyer/cruiser sized now, but still the fastest T1 frigate.

What's the logic behind it, and why was this change needed?

It's not that washed out, it actually has different shades of textures and more details now. I like the texture change, but I'm confused as to why the Rifter needed to be so huge that guns are hard to see on it.

The machariel is as big as a carrier and is the fastest battleship. They put the same Jovian Space-Time distortion technology into the Rifter, solely to make it bigger.

If someone craps in your sandbox: 1. Light it on fire 2. Grab your shovel 3. Throw it back at them.

The size increase was done to bring it inline with the Mach's agility and speed.

The Mach, despite its huge size, is very agile and quick. The reason being:

Quote:
The Mach is huge because it is mostly hollow which makes it buoyant in Eve's submarine physics. Things that float really want to float "up" but since there is no "up" in space, the Mach becomes the equivalent of an ADD/ADHD child strung out on meth stuffed into a straight jacket and forced to lie still on a bed of nails. This "is buoyant but not allowed to be buoyant" pensive energy is what gives the Mach its great agility and speed.

The same logic now applies to the Rifter.

The minmatar recently developed a lightweight carbon-fiber reinforced rust composite material that drastically increases the size of the rifter while simultaneously making it stronger yet lighter. Also teh windows are 40% bigger than an airbus a-330.

Probably because the Rifter is the single most influential ship in New Eden. Rifters forged an empire.
