Except that you jumped to the conclusion I do it for profit. Killing 6 month old BS pilots who are in their first ever BS and ground their way through 3 hours a day of level 3 missions for 2 and a half months to fly the big flash toy is way way more satisfying. Remove insurance and each one of these will be a probable quit eve for ever scenario. The wailing and gnashing of teeth will be fantastic.

I didn't assume you'd do it for profit, I assumed you do it to grief, and my point is that it would be no change for mission runners either which way. You specifically stated their "best pve" fits, not their "worst tech 1 fits".

Either way, mission runners make consistently more ISK than any other activity in EVE, they will not mind the loss of a tech 1 fitted or a faction fitted whether there is insurance or not.

Not having insurance will hurt PvP types orders of magnitude more than PvE types.

Removing insurance? Hell yes. Those mining barge pilots don't deserve it anyways.

Keep up the display of how little you know about EVE mechanics. Insurance only covers a tiny fraction of what a Hulk or Mack actually cost which is precisely why ganking those makes any sense in the first place.

Also, the new forums should really have an option to ignore posts by corp & alliance.

Someone once told me EVE is a dark, harsh, unforgiving place.

Well, it's certainly dark in places. One out of three isn't bad as marketing hype goes, I suppose.

I hate to tell you, but you're a whole lot less bright than you think you are... You generally seem to be struggling with coming up with arguments to defend your position and you are clearly not grasping the arguments other people are making... You keep blurting out arguments that don't add up, then abandoning them when people debunk them. Not exactly the characteristics of the brain trust you seem to think of yourself as...

It's when a player is able to gain an advantage, or avoid a disadvantage, by using some quirk in the game mechanics in a way it wasn't intended to be used. IMO suicide ganking a cheaper ship in an expensive ship that you've fitted so that the insurance payout will basically alleviate the death penalty is an exploit. Frankly, I don't think it's a huge deal. My point in my post was that insurance should be left as is, except for maybe closing that loophole. If they think that needs to be closed, that would be fine by me, but I would oppose getting rid of insurance across the board, which is what this thread is about..
