If any reasonable person thought for a moment that the intent of the name was to defame the Jewish heritage then the objection would make sense, obviously it is not. It makes reference to a silly stereotype that, in times past, was quite real and we know today that it was born out ignorant racism. Since we all know that we can have a bit of fun with it while recognizing that we would all swiftly subdue anybody that dared try to make such claims as if they were fact.

I have now contacted the Antidefamation League (http://www.adl.org/) and I encourage all of you who feel the same to do so as well. Perhaps they can help begin a dialogue with CCP.

And use of Jewish people making jokes to say that it is ok is just as valid as using the derogatory term for black people, and then saying "Well, they call each other it, so it is perfectly fine"

And, of course, I don't have a sense of humour, this is well known, it is rumoured I lost mine in the playground around the age of 6.

I don't want to get too tied down in this, we are completely off topic. But to make it short if it's okay for them then yes it's okay for us. Everyone knows that nothing is meant by this but some fun, it's not meant to be offensive and if someone interprets it as offensive it is that person's problem. One person's behavior should not be warped to fit another person's feelings. I for one am offended at the notion that certain groups of people are allowed to say certain things while other groups are not allowed to say exactly the same thing. However, I will have to live with that offense and let other people think what they want to think, I won't force them to act in accordance with how I feel.

What happened to all those "I don't believe in what you have to say but I will defend your right to say it" people?

Exploitocaust.. also why the hell would you say, hi ccp we know this is shady but there is a hole in your setup.. A swedish guy did that after making a few millions aon trading stocks and was promptly arrested and sentenced 12 years or something, just for being too clever for the system.

Im Jewish as a matter of fact I was raised orthadox, and I didn't find anything offensive, as a matter of fact iv read it 3 times, still nothing.

I believe, there are some, out there that are a wee bit to sensitive about useless ****, like Smoking anti black racism Holocaust etc.


Indeed, making fun of human misery is not funny, productive or useful, ever, I just don't go into spaz out mode every time I see something that resembles a hate crime from the past, while some, just think about hate, yhe you know what im talking about.

And yes, im going to have to size with Vaerah, this is a manipulation attempt, classic but gone totally, horribly wrong.

Racist or antisemitic jokes are something that should be confined to the dustbin of language. History shows that people of all creeds were greedy in the Middle Ages - it's just as greedy to sack a town for loot as it is to charge interest on a loan and a lot more cruel. Christians have never had the moral high ground over Jews and even less so when perpetuating discrimination under the excuse that it's "funny".

This forum is meant to be for the discussion of market matters in Eve. Any post that uses Jew as a derogatory term will very shortly not be about market matters in Eve. If you want to talk about the market don't troll us by being antisemitic.

It's not clear what you're trying to illustrate here.

I will paraphrase multiple interviews of several of the people on the list--context, intent and presentation are critical to the comedic arts. Even then, there are no guarantees. Just because you make a joke, doesn't mean its funny. The Jewish community does not speak with one voice nor adhere to one set of beliefs on this topic. It is not uncommon for Jewish artists and comedians (and others) to be accused of being antisemitic by other Jewish persons. Several of the people on this list have been accused of it; you probably should have done a bit of research.

But you do have a point: this thread is about guidance systems. I'll expand on it: this game is about an imaginary place and time. The only relevant politics, races, ethnicities, or nationalities are the ones in the game.
