Cerberus guide for pvp

Hello,
i was thinking about using Cerberus in wh/solo pvp, even maybe roaming throu low sec to kill some pirates.

But i have never before flown a Cerberus and really do not know its capabilities. Tried looking in youtube, but it seems cerberus is not a type of ship usually used by pvpers.
So, what should i know about this ship and where it shines in pvp?

from what I know about the ship is that it's either a short range frig killer and it's pretty good (but I dont think it's very cost effective) at that or a long range sniper. But missile ships suck at that. I cant tell you much more then that though

let's compare the cerberus to the drake shall we?

+ massive range bonuses
+ smaller sig
+ faster and more agile

- less total DPS
- no drone bay
- half the EHP of a drake
- 3x the price

as you can see the cerberus does not exactly stand up to the drake, so you should probably xonsider flying the latter.

I should buy an Ishtar.

You may be better off flying a navy caracal, fit it with rapid light missile launchers, 2 LSE, your choice of invuln or web, long point, MWD, 2 BCU, 2 nano. Unlike the cerb you get a drone bay and 3 rig slots and you get it cheaper.

Cerb was a nice ewar counter when Falcons used to stay @100+km and tier3 BCs didn't exist.

The cerb is good, but the navy caracal does it's job just as well.

the only thing it does better is a nano-HAM boat. It's paper thin but with some LG Snakes you'll be going 2k+ and can doign about 300 DPS or so (which is far superior to the drake with anything less than 3 BCS's)

I recomend navy caracals .... and protip: Navy caracals are atm very cheap thanks to caldari FW LP dump this week.
