They are pretty.

I suggest disabling more effects if it is impacting your PC's performance.

Or get a new computer. The good thing about Eve is that it allows you to turn down most of the graphics if this is not an option.

I can't afford one right now so I have everything on low plus disabled most of the effects.

never had a problem with smoke/gas clouds, ever. even when a few years back they were introduced/updated and everyone started bitching about low fps.

currently everyone that has ever mentioned the slow down to me, end up resolving it after a driver update. just so you know, even 5 year old hardware can render particle effects 10 times more complex.

update your drivers and buy any old VGA thats designed for games, and if you are playing eve on a laptop find a fire and jump into it.

The newer gaming laptops will play Eve at max settings... Of course I don't have one because they cost $$$. Sad

Laptop + 4g wireless = Eve on the go!

It works way better than you're giving it credit for.

I play the Witcher 2 just fine on this rig. Gas glouds black-bag my FPS and drag it to a secluded location where its screams won't be heard.

OP, the solution is to zoom out until the problem goes away.

Doesn't effect my fps, but sure is way to bright and annoying. If there is some way to turn this off, I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me. Mostly I sit with my camera turned away from the bright part of space, doing everything via the overview. I'd really prefer to watch the battle.

You mad !!! I dual box on a 4 yrs old IBM laptop with 2 gigs memory and it works just fine. Since the new effects I have sadly had to turn them and the station loading off, but then who plays eve to spin your ship and browse around your room.
I can tripple box and mine... as long as I don't dock or undock all 3 at once.
