Its not "breaking the sandbox" to reverse any gains made by a few highly dedicated, organized and intelligent players, and any players who have received a donation from it.

You forgot to call it "cheating" by the way. In fact, it seems almost ironic, this bit of phrasing taken out of the rest of your context,

Must say that I find the guys who did this a bit puzzling.

On one hand it takes a lot of smarts to find out the loophole and to devise a manner to make a lot of ISK from it.

On the other hand it is plain stupid then to brag about it like they did, and run the risk of losing all their gains and more.

Guess a psychiatrist in our midst must be able to reconcile these contrasting elements of 1 person's personality

I think this is more like the tritanium cargo mission. It was created long ago, a level 4 mission to move some trit from A to B. When it was created, the mission reward was bigger than the value of the trit. Later on, trit price spiked and people were stealing the mission trit to sell it on the market for 5x the mission reward... faction standing hit be damned. CCP caught it and nerfed it.

They don't need the isk, I don't think they'd just give it away.

Their cashing in ISK for drama.

First isk for LP, then LP for isk... repeat.... then isk for drama. Perfect end.

It's not that hard to quantify.

This was not cheating, nor was it an exploit. It was rubbing the fact that countless people warned CCP that the changes were poorly thought out and were ignored in CCP's face.

Because it was not cheating nor an exploit, these are fair market gains -- market manipulation is classic EVE market PVP, after all. Because they were fair market gains, why in the world wouldn't you brag about them?

And we got what we wanted -- a 100+ page threadnought full of pubbies so jealous they could just explode. That is why the thread was crossposted to the forums.

That's going to depend entirely on if NewCCP throws Aryth under the bus.

You be trollin' like James Brolin. Only CCP defines what is an exploit and what is not. Many things have been acceptable until CCP found out about them and then they were deemed an exploit and removed, POS bowling, boomerang, webbing freighters on undock etc, etc. Us players might have strong opinions on what is an exploit but in case you haven't met CCP yet, they don't care, they do what they want.

Second part I completely agree with. Some of the rage in that thread is awesome. No matter what comes of this, it is very entertaining to watch and that is the true sand\box of EVE.

Problem is that CCP can't just do what they want and they know it. Right now they're shitting their pants because they ****** up. 5T isk in the hands of p much the biggest and baddest je-- marketeers is awful, but several big gaming websites running articles on how CCP broke the sandbox is not really cool either. Besides, they set up the new game mechanics and the jewbal utilized them exactly as intended. Just on a slightly larger scale, with a little more preparation.

Also I guess an unlocked locked six-page no content thread full of heated discussion about whether eve's sandbox is actually a sandbox or not because of deleting lots of isk from the sandbox
