Getting introduced to agents

I'm trying to find some R&D agents I can do business with, but my searches only turn up agents in corps that I don't have enough standing with... that's fine, I went to find Storyline agents in those corps so that I can gain some standing. The problem is, none of the Level 1 storyline agents will talk to me without an introduction.

So.. how do you get started here? I'm at a loss.

You work for level 1 non-R&D agents to get standing with the corp.

Storyline agents are an exception and will only talk to you when they ask for you from a mail. You get these mails per 16 normal missions of the same level and faction.

You have to do 16 missions for that corp to get a storyline mission.

If you haven't, train connections to 3 and get to l2 agents.

Ah okay.. reading the wiki docs on agents, it sounded like storyline agents were the only way to gain standing. I get it now. Thanks for the help!

That probably referred to faction standing. All agents will give corporation standing.

For what it is worth, I find using EVE-Agents search handy for finding agents. It has a few more options for searches than the in-game agent finder.

although do note that storyline missions give big corp standing bonuses as well. I have 10.0 to caldari navy and 9.98 to propel dynamics from story lines! so if you can find some agents you can work with that will give you storylines for that corp well bonus!
