I would really love to join. Preferably I would be accepted before my game time runs out this time... apparently a month wasn't enough before...

Recruitment is always open. We currently have a about a 4-5 day backlog in processing applications, but are doing our best to catch up. Inferno and the start of summer has seen the number of applications jump by over 80%.

I've spent my first month of EVE in E-UNI, and I can honestly say it is one of the top organizations in terms of management, kindness, and integrity.

Anyone can say anything about E-UNI, however, no one can deny it is one of the best places for new players.

In EVE, I have my roots in E-UNI, and I'm not one to ever forget where I came from, no matter where I go.

EVE Uni is awesome for new players looking to learn the game. If you're new to eve, and you're not sure what you want to do, EVE Uni is the place to be because they do teach everything. I started this game not knowing what I wanted to do. After a few weeks in the Uni's "Low Sec Camp" I knew PVP was what I wanted to do in game.

Peace has broken out again in EVE University, and recruitment is still going strong with around 80 people applying each day.

If you are interested in joining, please check this link: http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Apply

Last week our teachers and guest lecturers held over 20 classes on a variety of subjects. More coming this week.

Join us and our applicants for a chat in the "E-UNI" public chat channel if you want to know more.

Peace decided to fall asleep again, likely exhausted after the rash it broke out in last week; war poked its cute head over the saddle and round we go again.

As always, recruitment is open! If you are interested in joining, here is a link for you: http://eveuni.org/apply

Classes and events continue apace, and in a little over a week we have two guest Q&As (not on our public calendar yet, so I'm not sure how much I should spoil \o/)! Applications are currently being processed 4-5 days after they are sent in, so apply today or miss out!

Our public channel "E-UNI" will give you information and help and a friendly environment; POs, applicants, alumni, friends, enemies, and small aardvark-like creatures from mysterious parts of New Eden all hang out there.

We are still at war (though the parties are shifting slightly) but as always recruitment is open and classes, events, visits, and all the other whatsits continue. You can find upcoming items on our calender, which now contains both guest Q&As mentioned in my previous post: (1) Q&A on 0.0 life by PonyWaffe of TEST and (2) Q&A on piracy by Sard Cain, the CEO of one of our friendly neighborhood wartarget corps.

As usual, the majority of classes and Q&As and the like are recorded and archirved in our class library.

We are currently processing applications sent in 2 days ago, so the backlog has shrunk a bit in the past week. A fresh batch of POs will ensure that it stays as low as we can humanly (and humanely!) keep it.

Some tweaks to the step-by-step application pages on our wiki have been made recently in the name of clarity: http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Applying_to_EVE_University

Summer time, wartime, events, classes, cows in fancy attire, and bunnies in tanks. Our backlog is gone, so what better time to apply?!

Applications are currently being processed within 12 hours!

Apply! Our doors are always open to new and old capsulleers alike. Bring a hat and a willingness to learn!

You can also join us in our public channel "E-UNI" and hang out with applicants, members, alumni, POs, friendly strangers, and suspicious strangers.

Bump as I move on to explore EVE.

EUNI --Thanks for helping to get me up to speed in EVE. I'd like to thank the management and the donors to EUNI for their generosity in keeping something like this going. Thanks to the people who led the roams and helped create a piece of EVE's player driven content. I hope I get good enough at fleet pvp to generate my fair share of content one day.

Don't know exactly what I'll do while I skill up to the 5mil sp range null sec corps are looking for, but I know I'll be using my EUNI experience to do it.

Bump for E-UNI.

Learned a lot. Not as much as I could have had I stayed longer, but the people I met there were really friendly and really great at teaching.

Props should be given for these guys who've - given me a jump start in knowledge.

A little daunting sometimes with the sheer number of people... but once you get past that.. everyone by and large was really awesome.

Fly Safe.

Bump for E-Uni.

4 years ago, they were my first player run corp and introduced me to the magnificent sand box and facilitated my goals of reaching a solid 0.0 corp.

With Debir Achen -- creator of the genius Noobs on Patrol -- having led his final Noobs on Patrol this past week, a full three regular Noobs on Patrol have started up:

  • The Wednesday-after-downtime NoP is being continued by a different Fleet Commander.
  • A new New World NoP on Fridays, for all those in the Americas (so, actually, Thursday evenings for them).
  • A new Weekend NoP on Saturdays, after downtime at 11:30.

Our Molden Heath wars have ended or are winding down though the war with TL may live on for another week, at least formally. In any case, the war with U-MAD is still ongoing.

In other news, the Ivy League Navy -- having been largely dormant for some time -- is taking shape again. Look forward to frequent, organized PvP fleets for immortals, young and old!

Still uncertain? Join us in-game, in our public channel "E-UNI". There you can meet Personnel Officers, members, alumni, prospective members, and far-too-familiar strangers.

How much of an effect do the constant wars have on new players trying to learn non-PVP aspects of EvE? I'd like to join Uni, but don't want to be restricted or hunted (more than normal) while trying to learn the game. Look like Uni has been dec'd more often than not lately.

I'd prefer to wait for major pew-pew until I have the skills to be effective / competitive!

You phrase the question in a great way; I would venture to posit that wars improve the teaching and learning quality of all aspects of EVE, even (especially?) non-PvP aspects.

Firstly, wars encourage members to fleet up when they may otherwise have gone solo. EVE gameplay is, of course, enhanced when playing with other people.

Secondly, wars (the threat of PvP) I think adds depth to all aspects of the game, whether they are directly PvP aspects of the game or not. Learning to play with more consideration, learning what to expect and how to react, and learning the general flexibility that proficient PvP requires in most cases greatly contributes to the same skillsets needed for those "non-PvP" aspects of the game. You may get by and have quite a lot of fun without any of that, but I think generally it will improve the experience.

Thirdly, if you don't join, you won't have access to our events, classes, chat channels, and other s! Tell me how this doesn't restrict learning the game! Pirate

While it is natural and very common to hesitate approaching PvP, any benefit you get from waiting is rather debatable. You can be an effective and contributing member of a fleet within your first day in space, with very few skills. You are not even restricted to a single basic role as a new PvP pilot, with similar amounts of SP you can effectively fly frigates filling roles such as tackler, electronic warfare, and fleet support (with modules such as remote sensor boosters and tracking links).

Keep in mind, EVE University has been around for many years now with much of the time being filled with war declarations. We continue to teach newer and older player with ever-increasing success, despite and because of the perceived hardships of circumstances such as war.

If we did not feel we can effectively teach during war, we would not be recruiting! If we did not feel that players can have fun or be successful during war, we would not be recruiting!

Thank you for your questions; I hope these answers help.

Godspeed!

Of course, you can always join, then leave a little later and retain access to the forums, chat channels, and 90% of all the Uni resources - our Alumni retain access to as much as we can provide when they leave, and that includes those who only just joined.
