if you can wait go for the windows surface tablet that's just been unveiled. A proper OS in tablet form, also it looks gorgeous and is apparently just as well made.

yeah, it would seem that if surface takes off, it might actually make 8 useful.

Owning the Samsung 10.1 for... 10 months now :-)

It is great to use the tablet for something like evernote. 60% is using it for my classes for note taking and music using blutooth device. I have not used the excel from ms office, but didnt like the word one. Evernote is... I guess slighty better?

40% remaining is web browing, exercise usage, manga reading, skype, diablo III authenticator, and gaming (tho about 5% gaming)

It is not a device you would want to use on ms office related work because it has features about 1/3 or 1/4 on what it can do from PC counterpart. Better a notebook/laptop.

PS: Exact tablet I got is Verizon 4G 32gig Galaxy tab 10.1. Still no ice cream sandvich :( 3.2 ver OS still I think.

Are both capable of playing questionable videos at decent frame-rate and without pauses?

I suggest a net top instead of tablet. Since you will do the docs and spreadsheets, you will want a keyboard for the docs for sure.
