Bounty Payout Question

I have a pirate character who no longer has a bounty but hasn't lost his pod, just his ship. The information I can find about bounties says the bounty is paid if the pod is killed. Is that correct? Or does it pay out on destruction of the ship? Is there some sort of display bug with bounties?

Take off that hood, maybe you'll be able to see better.

I have a lover, her name is EVE. I see her every night and all she asks in return is that I have a pilot's license.

I'm certain I had the bounty. It was 100k and I had the Wanted stamp on my avatar. It's not the end of the world or anything but since everything says bounty is for the pod, I thought it was strange. Maybe they changed it.

to gaze upon my uncovered face is instant death to all mortals.

also: i figured out what happened. i had aggression. i went to station, undocked in a noob ship to summon concord off the belt, got sploded. I docked up again to wait out gcc. I got a message to come help with another gank, so i reset my med clone to the target system, undocked and self destructed. Apparently that means the pilot I destroyed, who had drones out during the gank, still gets the reward.
