Alts should be removed from the game alltogether.

To OP.

Oficial statistics show, here 2.5 average character per one subscriber, this mean you have to deal with around real 15000-25000 players online if you remove all alts, eve become every unpopulated place, i know meny alts are not in use but big part of them are always in use, in pvp, pve hauling etc, and they not always afk... personaly i have main + two alts, while using alts they are under my control, in most cases people may interact with them. Your idea is wired...

Uhm.. I don't think people can be online with more than one character of the same account at the same time.
So if there are 40000 people shown as online, this should also mean 40000 accounts online.

Maybe I misunderstood you and you were talking about alt-accounts, but the OPs suggestion, from what I've understood, was only about the two alt-slots within one account.

Simply pointless, and assumes that people have no alts of value that were not intended to be exactly what they were.
