So I joined Reddit...

Originally the plan was to join Reddit and contribute meaningfully for a 4-5 month period and then join TEST.
However to my pleasant surprise, reddit is actually a very cool community.

They have coverage for almost every topic that interests me, it's almost like the site was designed for people like me.

The only thing I can think of that gave me any pause was the fact that most of the memes that are popular or "new" on reddit are memes that started on 4chan years ago. Reddit is like something awful except good.

Something awful would be the mold that grows on that ****, unironically pretending it knew about said meme/content before everybody else.

Reddit is OK, been part of that community a couple of years now. Not joined TEST though, but I have subbed to dreddit subreddit.

Recently however, the "main" subreddits have become infested with trivial and quite boring memes and other crap, but a lot of the very specific subreddits are very nice and have good communities.

My personal favourite subreddits are picsofdeadkids, beatingwomen, beatingtrannies, beatingcripples (reddit loves this kind of stuff) and mensrights.

Wait no I don't love these at all and reddit is actually terrible.

I poked my head around in there last night. The amount of subforums is mind-boggling.....not sure how anyone couldn't find a sub-forum for EVERYTHING they liked. To be honest though I'm not a fan of the threaded comments style of posting. I prefer linear. P

This is normal. Everybody loves Reddit when they first join. Then in about 6 months-1 year in you begin to resent the hivemind. And then you find yourself sticking to much smaller subreddits to avoid all the crap.

I have to say that as an avid reader of Reddit, for many years, I love the site like a family member. You know, that family member that's always "trying to get help for his/her problem" and is also spoken of in hushed voices at family reunions while he's over at the picnic table with the younger kids with a beer in one hand and constantly talking about the state of the country and what it's the reason for all his problems/addictions/afflictions. <3 Reddit
