Humans are the alpha species on the planet for a reason, first of all because we have the ability to communicate and store collective information and secondly because we work as teams to accomplish extraordinary tasks.

I've gotta say that the fact that the OP managed to call for a change that has already been implemented (removal of drone allloys) in such a subtle way that I didn't notice it in the initial scan is worth at least one additional troll point.

Yeah, I need to get more reimbursement money, but that means logging in, and inevitable blueballs on the titan, and maybe the enemy fleet won't primary me, or I might be damn lucky and live being primaried. Huh.

Depends on the child I guess. For example:

Go back in time, see child OP dying in a fire. What do?

People already tried all sorts of systems for governing alliances, from a council-based republic to individualist randian "groups".

They all failed miserably, except the collectivist system under a dictator that has become the standard in EVE.

Seriously. There is no better way to get **** done (one decider) and keep players happy (minimal personal losses, organized fun).

The great thing about Collectivism is that none of us are as dumb as all of us.

The 'do-nothing' member of the GoonSwarm Economic Warfare Cabal

The edge is REALLY hard to see at times but it DOES exist and in this case we were looking at a situation where a new feature created for all of our customers was being virtually curbstomped by five of them

Hey that sounds familar hmm just like in Monte Python's The holy grail.

King Arthur: I am your king.
Woman: Well I didn't vote for you.
King Arthur: You don't vote for kings.
Woman: Well how'd you become king then?
[Angelic music plays... ]
King Arthur: The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water, signifying by divine providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur. THAT is why I am your king.
Dennis: [interrupting] Listen, strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

Dennis: Oh, but you can't expect to wield supreme executive power just because some watery tart threw a sword at you.

Dennis: Oh but if I went 'round sayin' I was Emperor, just because some moistened bint lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away.

Dennis: Come and see the violence inherent in the system. Help! Help! I'm being repressed!
King Arthur: Bloody peasant!
Dennis: Oh, what a giveaway! Did you hear that? Did you hear that, eh? That's what I'm on about! Did you see him repressing me? You saw him, Didn't you?

The dictatorial style of leadership works because it is also the only style of corporate and alliance governance allowed by game mechanics.

Are we perhaps blaming CCP's corporation/alliance structure?

I love the "magic button" part of it. Press butan, disband alliance.
