Being away from the game for that long, you should start with the New Player Guide (and on that page, look at starting with "Your First Days In Space").

Also, once you log in press F12, there's a button to "Show Career Agents". Work through all five agents, carefully reading the instructions and tutorials that are provided. The advanced military career agent in particular will tell you things that you really need to pay attention to.

Once you've gone through those missions and had a good read of the New Player Guide, you should be set to head to the stars and chart your own destiny!

30million isk does not make you rich, but you are not poor either. It kinda depends on what you fly and do in eve. It's more than enough to do mission, build a character, mining ect...

It's also enough to cover cheap ships like frigates, destroyers, and well ok for cruisers.

If you start doing pvp with bigger ships however, your gonna burn them rather quickly.

It's a good amount for a 2 million SP pilot i think, but you should start doing missions to keep that wallet healthy.

FiS should be the priority, but WiS should not be burried!

Don't encourage CCP to make empty promises or Incarna will happen again!

I recently came back to EVE after 2.5 years out. What I did was create an alt with 0 experience. That put me into the ultra-newbie player tutorials. They're a great walk-through to get you back used to the odd EVE user interface (when and where to right-click when you're stuck, etc.) A couple of hours in the noober tutorial and I was ready to switch over to real action with my main toon.

2.1M Skill points is about 6 weeks training time at current rates. 32M Isk can be earned in one easy Level 4 mission in about 30 minutes. At Level 2 it might take you 4 or 5 hours by salvaging your wreaks and selling it straightaway.

So it is nothing to get excited about, but it is better than nothing. As a previous poster has said, it might be a good idea to start a fresh character and go through the full new player experience. However, you can do most of this with your current character, you just have to find your way to a Career agent system and do the basic tutorials then move onto the Sister's Epic Arc. Use the ingame help system to find your nearest Career Agent system.

What you won't get is access to the newby help channel which people automatically join for the first 2 weeks or so of starting a character, so that may be a reason to go for a new char.

The most significant thing about your character is the 7 year age. This can have positive and negative benefits. People may be wary of taking you on in certain PvP activities and scams, assuming you are some sort of bait, eg if they find you mining alone in a belt in a mining Frigate. Others will purposely go after you, especially if they find out you are not so experienced.

Personally, I'd suggest starting a new character, transfer your isk, ships and other assets from your old one, then sell him on the character bazaar, some people will pay extra for that ingame age.

I agree with Mara Rinn.

You should go through the new tutorial (Aura NPE) and complete the Career Agents.

There's lot's of different options available to you.

Epic Arcs
Factional Warfare
Sansha Incursions
Cosmos
PvE Missions
PvP
Exploration
Invention
Manufacturing
Trading
Mining
PI or Planetary Interaction

There's more info and options available in the Evelopedia.

Good luck and welcome back to Eve.

To get access to "Rookie Help" chat it's not enough to make new char, you need to make new account. That chat is only available for accounts less than 30 days of age.

You can allways use regular "Help" chat, so this isn't that big deal. Or you can just make new trial account if you do want to chat in rookie-help. I did that recently to be able to help there. Big smile
