Baltec is most commenly seen as The World’s Leading Riveting Machine Manufacturer!

However, the real reason for my name is because I closed my eyes and pointed to a point on a map of the world. The point happened to be in the middle of the Baltic Sea. Not to be confused with the Baltic art gallary located in Newcastle where CCP owns an office. I swapped the i for an e to make my name a little more unique and boom. Unfortunatly I forgot my first trials details so I had to add on the one at the end.

Thus is the story of Baltec.

Back in the dark ages of multi-player gaming, I played a little BBS game called TradeWars 2002. A lot. Was totally obsessed. Seriously lost several years of life to TradeWars... can't tell you how often Eve reminds me of TradeWars, actually.

How Greygal's grown to be so friendly and nice coming from the evil roots of GoingGrey is beyond me...

I remember TradeWars from BBS boxes also, even though it never turned to such addiction than in your case. Nice story any ways :)

Anne Arqui = Anarchy, phonetically. I thought it would be a fitting Matar name.

No-one ever noticed it though .. Straight

We all noticed, thought it was cool, but too obviously cool to mention. At least, that's what I thought. Cool

This name... wanted a pseudo-Chinese name (Khanid) that had a comfortable one-syllable first name.

Named after the planet Kaitain, home of the Padishah Emperor Shadam IV, using "y" to achieve the same vowel sounds.

(Yah, another Dune fan.)

Be careful in Pulsar systems, you might get Pod Flu.

Capt. Crunch got a promotion (To all you navy people I know Capt. in the navy is equivalent to a Colonel in other branches.... so another way to think about it is... he transferred out of the navy)

Also I just found out that the Popsicle company made an ice cream treat by the same name...

I just thought of Sable as a name. As for the surname, I called my GF up and said "give me a surname that sounds scifyish and goes well with Sable" and she instantly thought of Blitzmann. I loved it and stuck with this character. ^_^

I'll try to keep it short..

Before EVE I played a WorldWar II flight simulator called IL2 with a group of people that formed a squadron called "Vultures Row". Back then I choose the name High5 as I liked the sound of it and it reminded me of Spitfires over the English Channel somehow.

It would also made me giggle when people would say 'High5, bandits at your high five (o'clock)!' .

To distinguish ourselves from other squadrons and players on the servers we all put _VR_ in front of our names so _VR_High5 was my callsign then.

Then over half the squadron started playing EVE and formed the Vulture's Row Coop. So I thought what he hell, I'll join them there too. So when I had to name my character I did exactly the same thing Smile, starting with VR as I thought that is what we did in the squad/corp.

The first time I logged on and joined corp chat I saw to my surprise no one else had done that , everyone had 'normal' names. I was the only one with VR in front of mine. Bugger. Big smile

Now I am kinda stuck with it. But thats fine. What is funny to me that people who don't know me call me VR on comms. My corp mates call me High5, they know better .

I think I had just finished watching Lethal Weapon, so the name Riggs was fresh in my mind

I didn't know if I was going to actually enjoy the game so I was going to use Dropout but it seemed to obvious so i went with Droput (Dro-Put)

My first alt was Ritualiztic Suizide (who i eneded up selling) most game will not let you use Suicide as a name so I had changed my C with a Z and it worked out.
