Like the title said im wasting my time leveling up caldari skills? they really suck hard? xD

Do you mean skills that Caldari ships use, or the skills for mods that are favored by Caldari ships?

Anyway doesn't matter. They have some good ships for whatever you want to do, and missiles and shields work just fine.

I recently started flying a Merlin instead of my Incursus and I'm enjoying it. I don't really know about the bigger ships but I think Caldari skills can be quite useful, with the Falcon being one of the most annoying ships in the universe.

So no, I don't think you're wasting time, but it might depend a little on what exactly you are planning to do in EVE.

Nope they don't.

Caldari have awesome choices of ships for almost everything in the game, the best electronic counter measure system and drones, the best T3 ship sticking to CCP definition of versatility, awesome weapon system under capital size and list goes on.

Of course some ships need balance and it's about to be done in next ship balancing step. You can directly cross train Minmatar (because shields) and access some of the most iconic ships in the game and a new interesting game play.

You can cross train gallente ships and get Gila that is a better ishtar than ishtar for a heavy assault cruiser, Rattlesnake witch is probably the best shield tanking out there capable of tank a very high amount of dmg when all others are probably already dead.

You can cross train Amarr but will need a lot more effort because you need to train a lot of mechanic skills and gunnery but you will then access to some of the most powerful pirate ships around, whenever you see yourself yellow/red box by Bahalgorn it's too late.

So, as you can see Caldari are not top dogs but they are definitively good.

IF you are having fun then it doesn't matter.

There will always be the flavor of the month or year when it comes to PvP.
And it has shifted every time CCP comes in and nerfs or buffs something.

Fly what you want unless you are forced by your alliance mandates, and expect those to change from time to time.

The Merlin is now the best frig in the game, it has finally dethroned the rifter.

And yeah noone flys Drakes or Tengus, yeah Caldari sucks......

Oh come on now, we all know EC-300's are where its at. Smile I was going to joke about how Hornet II's have been the workhorse drones in 0.0 for years but then I remembered the EC-300....

And actually those caldari drones (light) against frigs are pretty awesome because: awesome speed, tracking, range dmg application (a lot of winmatar ships are weak to kinetic)

Be silent! You know not what you say. Caldari are better than they've been in years. If you keep whining, they'll buff Caldari further. You know what happens if they do that? People whine. They will whine, and CCP will nerf Caldari back into the stone age where they've been. I've waited too long for Caldari to be viable again for you to **** it up. For both of our sake's, BE SILENT.
