Some more details on the thread would be helpful to those who may be looking for a project. There is no lack of work out there for developers, so anything you can do to provide more details may give you better results. The good ones don't have to or want to contact vague posters to beat details out of them :)

Sounds a bit sketch. Valid concern pointed out, followed by a response with a bunch of wordy vague stuff to "protect" an idea that has a tiny likelihood of ever seeing the light of day (such is development).

I will throw this out here: ideas are cheap, execution is the key. Chances are, whatever idea you have, someone has already had, or has already done it.

For the developers asking about this opportunity, be careful in dealing with this guy. Make sure you collect a good portion of the fee up-front so you don't get screwed. This is a perfectly valid request, and if he's really serious, he'll do it if he's found a talented developer like he claims he has.

I'm not here to troll (well, maybe a little bit), but, as a developer who works at a small consulting firm who deals with this kind of thing often, I'd feel guilty not warning others.
