Quafe zero-wheres the ceiling?

With the latest round of birthday gifts sent out and Quafe Zero not on the list, it is looking more and more like the current supply is final amount ever to be distributed. I had been buying some supplies up and was thrilled that they didnt offer more as a gift option this time around.

It gives a bonus to speed as well as scan res. which makes it ideal for tacklers, suiciders and gate campers. I know quite a few pilots who don't leave home without it and although the % of people who use it regularly is pretty small, the finite amunts will be used up before too long I think.

I have been watching the price creep up from @5 M per unit a few months ago to to just over 8 M Isk/unit today. It makes me wonder what the max price will be and when will it top out? Any thoughts gentlemen?

Forgive my ignorance of the drug trade, but have they removed the ability to manufacture the stuff?

With no supply and a (relatively) steady demand? No ceiling. Suddenly they'll be collectors items, and they'll be a billion each.

It never could be manufactured. It only exists due to gifts from CCP.

Not to be mistaken with Quafe ultra. Quafe ZERO is the booster gift. I got a stack around somewhere. Aging like good wine until the price gets high enough I can't resist selling it.

You and everybody else. Which is why it never will. There is tons of it around in non-hub systems for really cheap still. (6m-7m)
hey look someone put up a bunch just under 8m in jita after this thread was posted.

Assuming 200k active accounts when it was released ( i have no idea how accurate that is but sounds reasonable, maybe even low) that would mean 1.2 MILLION units of this stuff floating around. let that number sink in for a minute.

So if 1.2million units is right, then 1200 people popping 1 a week means a 19 year supply.
get 2400 people popping 1 a week and you get a 9.6 year supply
get 4800 people popping 1 a week and you get a 4.8 year supply

So, figure it as a 5-6 year investment and you may have little bottles of liquid gold.


that is assuming that:
1. CCP never releases more supply.
2. that the utility of the item warrants a continuing market for it.

if either of those assumptions are not true then the price will level out and it just wont sell after a certain point.

Given the bonus I would guess that point to be around 10-15 MISK per unit.

yes, once the price goes above a reasonable amount, it may stop selling for routine use and become a collector's item. Few people will pop a 1b pill which gives a temporary boost. Having said that, I'm holding on to my stock for a few years.

Looks like I grossly underestimated, looking at this chart

there was around 350k to 375k active subs when it was given out last year, lets say 350k just to be conservative
so that means there were at least 2.1 million units of zero given out.
