Damage Control II

Federation Navy 10MN Afterburner
Large Shield Extender II

Ahh, the Phantasm. I have never seen a thread on these forums that didn't start in poop and didn't end in poop. I guess the biggest troll here is CCP, by making one of the best looking cruiser hulls also one of the crappiest (prise/performance ratio).

I don't even know how you possibly can come up with those fits...

Phantasm is pretty bad for missioning, if you really need to, do it like this

[Phantasm, PvE]
Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II

Republic Fleet 10MN Afterburner
Gistum C-Type Medium Shield Booster
EM Ward Field II
Thermic Dissipation Field II
Shield Boost Amplifier II
Medium Electrochemical Capacitor Booster I, Cap Booster 800

Heavy Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency M
Small Tractor Beam II
Medium Diminishing Power System Drain I

Medium Energy Burst Aerator II
Medium Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I

Hobgoblin II x3

167 EM/Therm Tank, 619 dps with Faction Multifreq, 505 with Scorch.
Cap stable without Shield/Cap Booster and of course cap stable with both running.
The SBA is pretty much anything you like (at least anything useful, like tracking computer or web)

Tank is bad, dps is good (but range is dreadful), still far ahead of your fit

Neither of those fits even come close to how you should fit a ship for missioning. Buffer tanking a mission ship that does not have an effective passive tank (such as drake, ishtar, gila, rattlesnake) is really, really bad. And a dead end, as you cannot even fathom of how to run most level 4s fitting like that. Learn good habits that will help you later.

The following fit would be far more effective:

high
3x True sansha Medium focus Pulse Laser

Medium
Fed Navy Afterburner 10 MN
Large shield booster II
Shield boost amp II
Thermic dissapation field II
EM Ward Field II
Medium Electrochemical Capacitor Booster, cap booster 800 charge

Low
Heat Sink II
Tracking Enhancer 1
Damage control 1

Rigs
Medium Burst Aerator 1
Medium Anti EM Screen Reinforcer I
Medium Anti Thermal Screen Reinforcer

In my opinion, using pulse lasers without tech 2 lasers (for scorch) is a bad idea. No range. If you must use your True Sansha Pulses, this is a semi-ok fit.

If you don't want to use a cap booster, learn to mission without being cap stable, or go find an armor ship to fly.

So, what exactly do you want to hear?

Your fits are both lacking a decent tank, any kind of dps and have too much cap reg. They use faction modules on slots that not only don't need them, but do worse with them (Pulse Laser need Scorch).

If you really really want a passive succubus do it like

[Phantasm, Setup 1]
Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II
Beta Reactor Control: Shield Power Relay I

Republic Fleet 10MN Afterburner
Large Shield Extender II
Large Shield Extender II
Large Shield Extender II
Pithum C-Type EM Ward Amplifier
Pithum C-Type Thermic Dissipation Amplifier

Heavy Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency M
Corpii C-Type Small Nosferatu
Corpii C-Type Small Nosferatu

Medium Core Defense Field Purger I
Medium Core Defense Field Purger I
Medium Core Defense Field Purger I

Hobgoblin II x3

Your fits are like posting pictures of a big rock and a christmas tree on a football forum and asking which one would be better to use as a ball for your next game. Do that, and you'll have to handle the ubiquitous douchebaggery coming your way.

On the other hand, if you're trolling, well done.

Isn't douchebaggery a lovely word?

I don't mind statements or suggestions at all. It's the prefixes and suffixes of:

"OMG whut a *** phail fit, AHMAHGAWD lern 2 fit a **** gawddaym ship yew ************* nuub!"

etc...

..that are so unnecessary. It simply affirms the juvenile nature of the forums and I was honestly hoping that at least one or tow members of the forums would decide to not completely spaz on their keyboard.

Evidently, I was wrong and received by due just deserves. I shall, henceforth, allow the onslaught to continue.

Do yourself a favor and run away from a phantasm then. Far away. Chose a ship where your skill improvement will help you towards doing level 4s well. You can't do that in a phantasm without active tanking. The logical extension of a phantasm is a nightmare, and if you don't active tank it, you are a dead man. At some point you will need to do level 4s to progress in the game, and your current line of thinking will lead you to ENORMOUS FAILURE.

If you don't want to active tank, choose a different Race to fly.

I recommend Drake, Gila, or rattlesnake in that case.

But honestly, the only sane thing to do is break you of your notion that active tanking is something you should shy away from. Don't shy away from success. Or at least shy toward another ship in which your tendencies will actually lead you to success, such as my recomendations above

So you post god awful fits, ask for criticism, get accurate criticism, and then get completely defensive and start calling everyone that posted in your thread a douche. Nice. Seems like you do not actually want criticism, but rather you're just a thin-skinned little man who wants to hear that his crappy fits are good and that he should continue wasting his time farting around in low level missions with a buffer tanked Phantasm. If that's how you like to spend your time in EVE, more power to you, but don't expect other people to pat you on the back and tell you how awesome you are.

Forums aren't really a place where people delicately tip-toe around idiocy. If you post a horrendous fit, expect someone to tell you it's a horrendous fit. If you can't handle criticism, HTFU, and in the meantime, your best bet is to stay off the forums.

My issues aren't with criticism! It's the way people deliver it. What happened to common courtesy and manners? Everyone forgets that they were once beginners and had to learn, and I'm pretty sure they didn't appreciate being abusively treat back then.

I regress my statements and apologise for trying to instill a sense of humanity into the dead husks that inhabit this forum.

Was that before or after you repeatedly called the other posters douchebags? Stop trying to white knight about attempting to facilitate polite discussion on this forum when you're the one getting all defensive and throwing out insults. If you get this upset over comments about a failfit Phantasm, I can't see your EVE career lasting very long.
