Review the Faction War plex mechanics

Please excuse me if this has been raised in the ideas section already. I had a quick look and couldn't see anything.

At the moment the warp in point for a faction warfare plex is 60km+ from the "button". The faction rats dont even need to be killed to run down the timer. This means that instead of the plexs being a mechanic to encourage PVP its become a mechanic to encourage Isk farming. Fair enough. I have nothing against people making isk in different and unique ways but for the player trying to use the plex as a form PVP plus some ISK its become boring.

If i find someone in the plex who is just fit for speed tanking he will run off to find another plex to farm way before i can get to him. Conversely if i see a ship that i know i might have trouble with i can easily just warp off before he gets anywhere near me. The plex looses that feeling of excitement. You might as well wait at a planet for PVP.

I'm not sure what the solution is but maybe something along the the lines of one of the following:

1) Faction NPC have capacity to warp scramble.

2) Warp in point to be 10 or 20 k from the button.

3) Must kill all the rats to run down the timer ( i think this is the worst solution as it still means that PVP is too easily avoided).

Like faction warfare missions that were designed to encourage PVP but ended up failing, the faction warfare plexs might end up the same way. To tweak them only slightly to encourage conflict can never be a bad thing.

That would make things almost impossible for an attacker.
Attacker gets scrammed in plex by NPCs.
Defender comes along
Attacker sits back and waits to die

Moving the button away from the warp actually creates useful PVP options. First attackers need at least someone on the button. Do they then split up to camp the warp in? If they camp the button they could try to snipe incoming defenders at range.

Pure speed tankers won't work. They'll need some form of weapons to take the plex. That could be on the same ship or a second ship. But it is an effective fix until a better solution can be found.

FW plexing has become alts grabbing LP anywhere they can. Kind of misses the point really.

How about cutting plex LP by half and doubling PVP LP rewards?

Less incentive to plex for LP, as opposed to plex for system sovereignty.
More incentive to PVP.
