We the w-space folk ask that you create a list of basic rules for this forum that would insure it is on topic and helpful to our w-space dwelling brethren. As such we request that you clarify to the masses that the forum should not be used for the following purpose:

-Sale of the wormhole or its location, there is an existing Sell Orders forum that is being utilized for this purpose.
-"Want to Buy" adds, again such a forum already exists.

I would ask that ship fitting threads are moved into Ship and Modules forum but I can see how w-space requires a different approach to ship fitting and therefor a bit on the fence about it. However, the Sell and Buy ads definitely have to go as they pollute the main page and diminish the functionality and enjoyment that this forum otherwise provides.

Thank You.

P.S. Also please make a sticky rules thread. THX

Sell orders should not be here, but ship fits geez stop being elitist. If people post in other forum subsections for a WH fit the either get ignored completely or get fitting advice from mission runners.

Its not like you get so many threads in here that you miss the good threads for the fitting threads. You should be doing a good dead by helping the noobs with ship fits then karma will let you shoot them in the face later.

I agree that w-space fits might require something different and that regular mission runners might not provide the best advice, I would be fine with threads except that we seem to have same ones popping up because people don't take a moment to search through available advice. That is why I am on the fence.

This. Although I am usually willing to help new players with this sort of thing, it is starting to bug me that the same fit questions keep popping up. I see what your saying, Bazooka, but it's obvious when they haven't searched. Can't adding a fit to Battle Clinic and seeking advice from there be better use? Or do people just get trolled to death there? I dunno. Difficult one.

Anyways - a big thumbs up to the OP Big smile

Agree with op, fits should stay though, perhaps add a sticky with common fits?

Yes, I think the best way around this is to get any willing experienced WH vets to get a load of fits together in one big thread for others to reference and try and get that stickied.

Edit: not thinking before I typed

Gnaw, I would agree with suggestions of ship, not with fits.

If I built a website especially for WHers, would people use it? Will give me a project and I don't think there is a specific WH forum site out there, is there??

That would help keep this forum clean by helping noobs and the like elsewhere.

Would people use it???

I completely agree with OP concerning wormhole sales......there is already an existing forum for that.

Also completely agree with OP concerning stickying the "Rules", for all to see.

I don't mind questions about fits tho, provided that folks have already hit the search button. So perhaps a small note in the rules stating that search is your friend?

You can't make people do it and many won't, but that doesn't mean I think their posts should get obliterated either. With proper google skills these things can be found, but that being said, I'm on the fence about them as well. If I know full well that the information is available somewhere, I just won't respond. They can either take the time to find it, trial and error their way through some terrible fits, or someone nicer than me can answer them if they feel so inclined.

Nothing will prevent people from asking for fits without searching, there can be slight variations for a PvE drake, but fitting a drake for C1-C2 anoms isn't rocket science and if they can't be arsed to search for it before posting, I doubt they'll read the forum rules before they do.
Having common generic fits in a sticky can save a bit of hassle and while forum rules won't prevent people from posting, it serves as basis for thread moving or locking but it still falls down on the readers to report inappropriate threads for the forum mods to move them.

"get me out of Jxxxxxx" threads belong in the beginner help forum imo.
