Why not allow trainer corps, RvB/EveUni and other ones like it to be able to Opt-In to be listed as a "new player corporation" and when a new player joins they get the option, Join from this large list of new player corporations, perhaps even allow new players after 1 month to review, and read those reviews from right in the game client during the character creation.... Then the new player can join directly into a new player corporation and actually start getting some decent help....

Or if they dont want the window could have the option to allow them to go to the NPC corp but with the notation that there better off in a corp based and run by real people that will help them to catch on and grow.

As it is the NPC corps are idiotic... no one really helps and your trolled 99% of the time, or ignored... By giving a random list of new player corporations with star ratings and the ability to click it and view past reviews by recruits to that corporation that left reviews after 1 month in the corp... it could push people to join right out of the blue...

Of course some limitations would need to be in place... such as if the New Player Corp opt-in corporation is under a wardec it is not visible in the corporation selection window... and in addition the new players would still get the no-griefing rule.

Also opting in would be an agreement that the corporation agrees that no griefing of recruits will take place or there will be penalties, removal from the optin list, as well as isk penatlies etc if griefing is reported and found to be true of new players in there 30 day grace period.

Needs a bit of work, but I would quite like to see something like this. As long as it wouldn't give preferential treatment to corps like Eve Uni.

I'd also restrict these corps activities, if they want to be a newbie corp taxes for example are a no no. Tax should remain at NPC corp amount and be removed from the game, or people will just try and create corps full of noobs to farm taxes.

I'd also advise against "user reviews", this is Eve after all. Alts are a reality and we'd just review our own corps.

I think you hit on all the range of problems that would be created, but more importantly, this shows that the idea, why not bad, creates more problems than it solves.

After all, when advertising, all corps have the option to flag themselves are new player friendly. And someone who can't google and search forums shouldn't be playing eve to start with.
