Datacore crash.... how long can it last?

I have been keeping tabs on the absolute crash of the Datacore market. I have read a few threads regarding how far the prices will fall... I have also msged multiple people who have sold me batches of cores 15k or higher, trying to see whether we are still dealing with the massive RP cash in or are these rock bottom prices being carried now by FW...

The rough calculation as I understand it makes the avg core worth about 150k to buy through FW compared to ship prices. What I am wondering is as the minny ship prices fall from the increased FW points the militia receives would this constitute cashing in Datacores with a smaller profit margin?

So what do you guys think.... can the prices go any lower? are they going to stay this low? Are we still dealing with the RP cash in or are prices staying so low because its worth cashing in FW at these prices? Is the general 150k p/u not taking into consideration the increased FW points when using the x2/x4 multiplier like the Minny military currently has?

tier 4 they cost 25k per core and tier 5 is half of that so you do the maths.
i.e. if you waiting for minnie cores to go up you are in for a world of pain.

The new faction warfare changes have also made ALLOT of merchants happy, there's lots more room for competition everywhere, if you think you can make it =)

When you say 25 per core do you mean any ones or just Minnie starship?

Anything that minmatar FW players can buy, which is mech eng, minmatar starship, nuclear, hydromagnetic, and molecular engineering.

At tier 4 minmatar can sell their cores for 50k and still make 1k isk/lp. Is it any surprise that they're all tumbling off a cliff?

e: To elaborate further, datacores from FW have the following break even points at each tier, ie they cost at this much to buy from the store, so selling below that is a loss.

Tier 1: 200k/core
Tier 2: 100k/core
Tier 3: 50k/core
Tier 4: 25k/core
Tier 5: 12.5k/core

For pilots to get 1k isk/lp, they have to sell at double that price. A more modest 500 isk/lp means increase that price by 50%. So, you can see which datacores will probably rise and which will probably fall over time, assuming things stay as they are now.

But look on the bright side: if you're an R&D skilled pilot, six months of skills mean you can earn 2.5k ISK per data core even at rock bottom prices, assuming no one's dumping Lol

So dump all those mechanical engineering RPs. Switch to laser physics, and join the Minmatar militia. Use your profits from laser physics to subsidise your razing of Minmatar FW ISK/LP conversion.

Adapt or die.

I hope this doesn't lead to everyone joining the winning side to milk the rewards like it did in Warhammer.

amarr seems like they are starting to get their **** together. minnies have dropped back and forth from 3 to 4 the last few days. might see them at 3 more often in the near future.

The fact that items that the winning side can buy, in theory will rise in price to reflect their failure should guarantee that this doesn't happen. If anything it would be the opposite - people would join the losing side to try to flip them to winning and milk the reward. Needless to say, if Amarr cores were valued at 300k and then Amarr went on a tear and got Tier 2, the first people to cash in would find it quite lucrative.

Each side has their own datacores, and Mechanical Engineering are shared by all four factions. If you go back to the patch notes for inferno, it tells you who gets what.

Beyond that, there are only a few, largely irrelevant items that are faction limited - the implants that increase your sensor strength (Jackal etc), Navy shield extenders and armor plates, respectively, and some other garbage. FW also gets a reduction in LP cost for their ships, although if they're mired in tier 1, they still pay more than mission runners do.

Maybe, although the price spikes are definitely from people trying to get in ahead of the game on what they see as an incoming spike.

Contrary to everything I said earlier, actually, what we discovered was that Mech Cores are a very robust market. We set out to flatten it and...couldn't. It'd bounce back, and there was also little evidence that OTHER players were dumping cores. That suggests to me that FW players aren't generally buying them, so who knows if demand is actually being met anymore.
