Do they drop any kind faction loot. Or just overseer effect and T2 salvage?

Some people say they very rarely drop lower end Serpentis loot (the 3/10 at least). They also sometimes drop parts for making Augmented/Integrated drones.

Personally, I wouldn't waste my time with any drone related exploration sites.

The drones itself never dropped t2 loot for me.

In some of the containers u sometimes find faction loot, can be everything from worth some 100K up to 500mio. The chance to find something in the containers is according to my logs about every 7th site.

Since those sites are that easy that it takes about 4 mins to clear them, they are warm welcome to pop, its cheap income thanks to those who always say "...not worth the time..." there are always plenty of those sites left to fly in and check for loot.

Salvaging is not worth in those, at least in high sec.

T2 salvage mostly comes from drones named "ancient". The rest u can leave drifting in space for some wannabe gankers and ninja-salvagers, they earn nearly nothing, so have a heart for those studs :)

What kind of loot exactly and in which sites?

I'm no expert in Rogue Drones so I may be wrong on that but I recall that those special drones are called 'Sentient' ( with EvE small fonts it's easy to miss that Lol ).

The information you wanted:

In this very common 3 pocket site you can find faction loot frequently in pocket 3. With a t3 or a HAC this site is very easy (p1: less than 30 sec / p2: less than 2 minutes if u use MWD / p3: less than 4 mins). In about every 7th site faction loot can be found. Just dont calculate like i will find something every 7th. You can have like 10 times nothing and then 3 times faction loot in a sequence.

What you find depends on where you are and which pirate faction you can find there. I find mostly Sansha/Blood Raider stuff. Things i found over the last 2 month (summary):

Sites found (Rogue Drone Infestation Sprout) : 67, Faction loot found 10 times
True Sansha Warp Scrambler 2x
True Sansha Medium Pulse Laser 2x
True Sansha Medium Armor Repairer 2x
True Sansha Small Armor Repairer 3x
True Sansha Small Remote Armor Repairer 2x

and some other stuff like that. Corp Buddy got some shield device 2 weeks ago which he has sold for 554 million - dont ask me what that was excatly, some invulnerability thing ( i am amarr, dont care much about shields :) ). Though i found some serpentis and guristas stuff also some time ago and this was in amarr space.

Good info, here's another Rogue Drone site that I usually run which also randomly drops loot with the Overseer's Personal Belongings, either Faction or regular Meta modules..

Sentient Drones usually spawn in the 'Unknown' Rogue Drone combat sites and expeditions. They usually give T2 salvage as well as materials used to manufacture Augmented Drones.

I don't seem to get much worthwhile from drones compared to other complexes, but they're so easy it doesn't really matter.

I am gonna miss the drone minerals, I liked to get them sometimes just for the variety, you know, something different. But based on the above I am going to run more drone sites and see how my loot metrics pan out.

I have been doing exploration for a few months now and have never had anything other than Overseer's Personnel Effects drop in the can in the 3/10 site Rogue Drone Asteroid Infestation. I have lost count of the number of times I have run it - must be well over 20 times. I guess I have just been unlucky so far and I will have to stick with it since it it a quick plex to run.

Drone 10/10 escalations from Horde/patrol anoms still drop drone minerals.. After looting the whole plex, you end up with about 200-400 units of plush, which is about half of what a single horde site use to drop.. Also, you get overseers effects and tons of t2 salvage.
