So are we talking here?

A voice in my sick twisted head?
A prediction from a Soothsayer?
Post coitus pillow talk with the chick from CCP accounts?
Overheard conversation?
Signed affidavit?
Stolen documents?
The bottom of the Scotch bottle?
Teary confessions?
Scrap of paper found on the street?
Things other people say?
A 10,000 word thesis written in absolute good faith?

What happens if you post something you believe to be true, but is based on crap?

Where's the line guys?

You might want to get that as a signed affidavit or you might get banned.

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!

Classically, it's raw data, but integrated, interlinked, summarised, interpreted, and otherwise organised and arranged so as to provide more meaning as a whole than the individual pieces put together (but not enough to serve as a basis for action, because then we've strayed into ‘knowledge’ territory).

The Creators and Developers of Eve were born years ago. They delivered Eve unto us. Proof positive that God exists.

It might be just another rule that has infinite interpretations so as to allow the mods a greater flexibility of discretion. Idea

When i tell you that your wife is cheating you, that's information.
When i tell you how often she did already, that's corresponding data.

I think i got that right. Now go call your wife...

Isn't it information that is pertinent at the time and is contextualized correctly?

What I would like to know is what context your post is based on, cos OP - it don't make alot of sense!!!

I am aware of my own ignorance and have checked my emotional quotient - thanks for asking

We're not going to draw you a map of every spot where you can possibly strand. But you're welcome to brave the waters if you wish Blink

But it's not complicated anyway. Just use common sense and don't intentionally or maliciously make up stuff about others and you'll be fine. There is life after slander, kids!

Hm, "common sense" - that's what lead to the believe that Earth is flat for hundreds of years, wasn't it? P

So, there are no real boundaries, just rules.

With respect - what's a "strand?"

How will you determine if someone has made up "stuff" or they are just reporting what they have been told in some other forum, chat channel etc?

Who is being slandered?

We will evaluate on a case by case basis with the information available to us as we do in all other cases of alleged rule violation.

We're not going to force you to fact check and scientifically validate every sentence you craft, but we want it to be clear that malicious rumors with little or no foundation aren't something we care to host and that posters should weigh that into their decision making.

We have actually been dealing with this sort of behavior as personal attacks and/or trolling when applicable, but we felt the rules needed to be a little clearer on this subject. So this is not something completely new.

P.s. I was referring to the stranding of ships and being all metaphorical and stuff :)
