In search of a 0.0 Gallente Ratting ship

Alright guys let's get straight to the point :]

I am currently flying in a 0.0 Drone region with a Myrmidon but I am not really satisfied with it. It takes me a little bit too long to take down the Drone ships. Do you guys have any suggestions for a better 0.0 Ratting ship? (Preferable Gallente)

I was thinking about Talos. How do you guys tink about that?

I think that sentry Ishtar could work for you. Talos has paper thin tank so without dedicated tanker you would have hard time to do those anomalies. Having better range ( Sentar can get nearly 50km with T2 gardes ) is good for any kind of pve. It is also quite fast and agile, quite important traits for nullsec ratting platform.
Having light drones will make it easy to kill frigs when they get too close, Gardes work wonders against bigger ships ( with bigger distances they also eat frigs for breakfast ).
ECM drones will give you much better chances in case of unwanted pvp action. Most pve boats have low pvp capability.
You can also shield tank it and use heavy drones ( Ishtar can get about 700dps from ogres using DDA mods ).

Other than that - Dominix. Battleship sized Ishtar. Much less mobile of course.

Drone Proteus with interdiction nullifier is very nice also. I use it for my Syndicate/Outer Ring expeditions and it works great.

Shield tank your Myrm put more damage and drone damage mods in the lows ( explosive resist in shields is good)

Ishtar is a great ratter, and if you have good fitting skills you can add a new DDA mod & get Garde II's doing over 600dps out to 45km. Not sure about what tank you'd need (never been to drone regions) but I imagine more omni.

Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

What about the dominix? Would that be a nice ship to use sentry drones with?

Sentry domi is one of the most popular pve ships. It is severely lacking in mobility department ( like most battleships ) but it is very good for pve.

All depends on situation. Can you rat in relative safety or not?
If yes then it can work.
If no then it's not too good ( quite risky because your gtfo ability will be very low ). Ishtar will be much better in that scenario.

for belt ratting there's nothing better than talos with about 1000 dps. ishtar is good if you need big tank and for plexes/anoms, but talos has enough tank for belts.

I'm in the same situation, a safe place to rat but no idea on ship to use. I can fly on Ishtar with sentry and ogres t1 but I've planned 1 month of training for one type of drone.
For signature running, in solo or in fleet Sentrys are better than Ogres or not? Some says yes, some no.

Can anyone explain me the real difference for signature running?

ps. I can fly both armor and shield Ishtar

signatur running ? You mean scanning a signature down and then run the complex?
If this is what you mean, then i would say:

Solo - Heavys

You warp in by a gate. You get stage aggro. You have to move. And if you move its more difficult to manage Sentrys.
If you can sit on top of your sentrys and tank the Stage... then Sentrys will be the better choice.


Team - Sentrys

If you are in a team. Then you have a logistik? And even when not, you shouldn't need such a big tank.
Therefore you can sit on top of your sentrys and managing them...
