What am I doing wrong?

So I spent the time to train T2 cruise Missiles. Got it done, got everything fitted on my Navy Issue Raven and buy the Fury cruise Missiles. DPS on the fitting screen shows more, good so far.

Go do my favorite Anom site, done it hundreds of time before with T1 cruise missiles and launchers. Come to find out my T2 Missiles do less damage than the T1 cruise missiles. What the hell is going on?

So I decided to test this out and load T1 cruise missiles into the T2 laucher and they do more damage then the Fury T2 cruise missiles on NPC BS. What gives? What am I doing wrong? Whats the point of T2 ammo?

I am at a lost.

So to sum it up.
x7 T2 curise Missile Launchers + T1 cruise missiles = avg 1400 a group vs 1mil dollar NPC BS
x7 T2 cruise missile launchers + T2 fury cruise missiles = avg 890 a group vs 1mil dollar NPC BS.

what's the explosion radius and explosion velocity on the furies?

I should buy an Ishtar.

Item DB linkies: Fury, normal. Compare explosion velocity and explosion radius, you can see that the Furies are slower and bigger.

Are you using Rigor rigs and preferably a TP (or even two)? You should be able to squeeze full-ish damage out of Furies on most NPC BSes that way. Otherwise, that explosion radius is going to murder your Fury DPS.

Train "Target Navigation Prediction" and "Guided Missile Precision" each to 5 if you want to stick with cruises, they are both worth it, especially if firing on ships smaller bs.

im flying - may be last - cruise golem out there. with the painter-bonus from ship and a single faction painter you can oneshoot most mission bcs with furies, wich does not work with standard missiles. on battleships i dont need the painter to do full damage.
/edit: also using 2 Warhead Flare Catalyst rigs

there are also 2 implants, MP-70x and GP-80x (where x = 1 to 6)

50% worse explosion radius for 20% increased damage. makes perfect sense...

I should buy an Ishtar.

As you have found out the hard way, EFT DPS is for the perfect situation, not actual use. The explosion radius and speed of Cruise Furies (550m and 58m/s base, 412m 87m/s at all 5s) guarantees that you have to really work to get anywhere near full damage from the things.

IIRC, most NPC BSes have ~350-400m sigs and move at 100-150m/s. Even a supercap can speed-tank a Cruise Fury missile without fitting the ship with modules/rigs to help hit stuff harder.

It does make sense. It's specialized ammunition for taking down large and/or painted targets.
