TL just engaged their gang of about 15-20 people with 5 augoror navy issues. EUni responded by adding in 20 other ships, making up of multiple battleships and t3 battlecruisers.

What did EUni learn from this?

We may not have got much of the small gang experience that you are after, but hopefuly every other party in that fight learnt that the uni is not going to play by any form of code of honour while their players in highsec are threatened. Also, there are a few more people involved on the TL and allies side then just the navy issues, see our killboard for more details.

Edit: Also, one of the reasons for the larger ships recently is that people have been bringing out sniper setups against some of the groups recently, which is a rather nice counter to the frig heavy setup that is normaly the case. You cant expect us to allow you to get free kills on us.

I was one of the Augoror's, I am perfectly aware of what happened before that, which was pretty funny. I am talking about the last battle where it was against 5 cruisers and you added 20 more ships to fight it. How is this beneficial to any Unista?

No matter what silly smacktalk has been spilled in locals, the pure intention of Gunpoint, TL and other corps has purely been one of 'we want proper PvP'. We do not run locates or gang up to hunt your miners, missioners, or industrialists (any of those kills that have happened are cherries on top for the war and are not the main objective). Whenever we put any effort in our engagements, we have offered proper no-bullshit PvP. Gunpoint brought a gang of about 8-10 battleships with 3 guardians, TL brought a separate gang with 5 Augorors. The intention of these gangs were to have a proper fight with your gangs.

You won the first fight against the Gunpoint battleships and guardians. Congrats, you won because of your damp usage. But when you fought the 5 Augorors from TL, you started with 30+ ships (see http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=13693618) and added another 20 to it afterwards.

Is this truly your definition of 'teaching members how to deal with wars'?

What if you were to take the approach of teaching them how to PvP properly and skilfully, and thus be able to deal with future wars by actually outsmarting and outmanoeuvring the opponents instead of simply blobbing them with 10x their numbers?

Former Unista here, alot less trolling in this thread than I would have expected.

Not much to say except to shamelessly quote another former Unista:
From the outside it looks like the existing MH residents have a fair point and E-UNI should move to another system.

Oh deary me, the Uni causes a whole thread of tears that would make the goons proud.

"mommy, mommy, they use ewar and they throw massess of hungry noobs in t1 ships at me, they have poo-poo'd in my personal sandpit and made it dirty, send them away!"

Just because you can't ponce around in you sniping Machs and Tier 3's or harden your epeens with 1v1, there's no need to cry.
You must be stuck in a rut, why not show your skill by ADAPTING your tactics to overcome ewar and greater numbers - half of which will be t1 frigs and cruisers flown by pilots in hypnotic shock from their flashy OV. Instead of whinging, show us how pro you really are. (Gunpoint, will you cry if any of your opponents use ewar in Alliance X?)

Deccing them will just mean even bigger blobs are more ewar soiling your lawn, but, there must now be nearly 300 of you mighty, Eve-Bushido Warriors allied against the UNI in your crusade for your ancestral station (You RP bro?) , so any more crying "blob" just won't wash.

This is Eve, and they are not playing it your way. Thats Win!

If it had been PL or Goons or whatever else coming down and shitting up the area, we'd have been like 'yeah this is what they do, we're not surprised, whatever. Let's adapt.'

This is EUni, their goal is not to **** in cereals but to educate brand new pilots on how to be good and respected EVE players and community members. I daresay they do not have a class on 'how to troll and extract tears'. We're talking about how, with a few changes to their policies and the way they approach their LSC or whatever, they can stop this alienation and have a whopping good time with the locals in MH.

That said, we are adapting. By deccing them we no longer have gateguns as a permanent factor against us. We still are having fights with them every other night, except instead of the usual tiny gangs we are forced to bring 15+ gangs with logi support against them.

'Gunpoint, will you cry if any of your opponents use ewar in Alliance X?'
Not if their total ships are still less than 10. If ATX was 10 of us against 50 of them with 6 blackbirds? Yes, that's stupid.

Wait wait wait.

Hold on a second.

Okay?

Wait.

Wait.

Wait.

No! Don't talk.

Wait. Just stop. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait.

Okay.

So EVE-Uni comes into an area LowSec where some yarbears live and starts poking at them and blowing them up - unprovoked. They camp the gates and only shoot criminals because they don't want to GCC, and generally hang out in a gigantic blob that most LowSeccers generally don't contend with on a regular basis.

So the pirates respond in kind with a WarDec, because they don't want to GCC, either, and a few of those mean piwates fly to HiSec where EVE-Uni lives, and catch a few Unistas being bad (mining during a WarDec? lulz).

Now Unistas want to get their panties all twisted up into wet little knots and say "boohoo it's unfair"? What?

I don't understand.

And so it has come to pass. The Lfyt shall be required, and the Hearald shall speak, and all shall rejoice at the coming of the fire. For mighty epeens shall lfyt towards the heavans and fallen angels shall rise to meet the enemies of light the darkness will be cast aside.

Let the Herald come forth:

At the collapse of the Eve gate, all transmissions from Earth ceased. While many of them were quantum-based, faster-than-light technology, there yet remained some traffic on the old frequencies. One Collection of Signals, one Image, one Idea from the Old World has finally traveled across time and space to land in the collective underground of New Eden. A solitary capsuleer known as The Herald has worked his entire life to bring this Image to you. Come friend, and learn of the One True Greeting.

In the name of the King in the South the mity hattery jumped five augoror navys into 30+ euni. We killed this
http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=13693586
and deaggressed and jumped out with a single augoror dying just before his deaggression timer finished.
FOR THE KING!

EUNI killed a bunch of other stuff that wasn't in our fleet.

Came here expecting tears and oh **** I'm not leaving disappointed. Funny thing is, I expected Eve Uni tears, but all I find are these pirate tears. Unbelievable.

The gist of the tears seems to be:

"E-UNI is crashing OUR home", "E-UNI doesn't PVP the way we PVP", "E-UNI doesn't fight fair". I know I'm missing a few other key points, but these were the first three that stuck out as batshit crazy.

We're a teaching and learning institution, and as such we expect and in some cases even encourage losses/kills. ISK values, and by extension efficiency on killboards, doesn't mean anything significant beyond the wealth of the participants, and E-UNI members have effectively unlimited resources via our hangars and ship reimbursement.

Seeing as there's no permadeath in EVE, and as there are no pre-declared objectives in wardecs, the only effective measure of win/lose being 'does the other side still exist?'. In many cases, they don't.

EVE University has been around for over 8 years, has stood though something like 300+ wars (E-UNI, BLUE, IVY) and will still be here after the next 300. It may not look the same, but then EVE itself doesn't look the same as it did when it did 8 years ago.

Some people survive wars. Some don't. EVE University has.

We use that metric, along with 'have the members learnt something' to decide who won. We tend to win.

That said, the standard offer is open - if you fancy helping us 'correct' what you believe is wrong with our curriculum, you can come teach, let me know what you think is wrong and provide a solution to it, or simply set up a competitor and do it 'right'.

So let me get this straight.

Corps WarDec you to farm tears and giggles.

War ends.

Some of the corps that WarDec'd you, for whatever reason, no longer exist.

You try to imply that E-UNI somehow had something to do with that, and that because these corps "no longer exist", that means E-UNI won the war.

Wow. Is your ego that desperate for verification?

Uh, are you kidding?

So if a corp I was involved in a war with 2 years ago today disbands due to inactivity because D3 came out... that somehow means I won the war.... what....
