Not really, ex corpy flew a year ago to Jita in an empty hauler to pick up stuff, afk.
Hauler never made it.

Was the sarcasm in my post not evident enough? Apologies for that, I'll make it more obvious next time Lol

Not sure that can be called a quick profit, tbh

They should just mine instead.

To everyone who says I made myself a target: Almost every ganking setup I've seen has a scanner buddy or scans holds themselves. I am no more a target now then I've always been.

To everyone who says they'd never haul in a T1 Hauler: I'm aware there are better ships, but options are never haul anything of value and make some modest isk, or take a loss once in a while but make 1000x more.

I'm okay with the loss, anyone who takes the time to look at my 3 bill loss killboard will see really, that's not the issue.

I simply think that criminal penalties are not steep enough. My issue is the ganking but i'm sure other forms of crime in eve are also not looked at hard enough. But, I did read over some of these posts and did learn some things.

Oh, and I didn't autopilot my ship >.> I mean, really? All that happened is I was pulled away for 60 seconds, i assume i decloaked 10 seconds after i left, got blown up, and boo woo for me. I'm not looking for sympathy over the one encounter, but do feel that it's bullshit people will camp gates all day, every day, make a killing and never be forced to -really- leave high sec.

After a certain number of ganks they are forced to leave HS (or modify their tactics).

A group of gankers sitting off a gate will need an orca for every 2 members of the group that are -10, and will need to be quick to board and warpin, or their prey will get away. Gate guns also mean that it's risky for them to warp in before the target decloaks.

Bad things can happen when you look away for 60 seconds. For instance: driving.

So close...

^ Thanks for pointing out how easy it was for them. That's the problem. Most of my corp members are starting to try things like this now because it -is- that easy to do. Equip a ship as cheaply as possible with enough dps, get a friend in an industrial, purchase a cargo scanner, and good to go :D

Edit: The driving thing made me laugh XD Given.

I'd take that option. Would make it more practical to get revenge on these people rather than killing their expendable ship.

The timing's pretty tight unless you tank your suicide t3, which would require that you use more of them.

DPS ganks aren't as reliable on gates because of gate guns, so you really want to use Alpha.

Secondly, they can be scanned down and podded at any time. The target could get into warp before they land (at which point there's still some chance that they lose their ship to gate guns or attentive players). Ganking haulers once you're an outlaw is much more work than doing so before that point.

Ever try podding someone in high sec? You should. It's fun.

And here's the other things. They should have plenty of targets in high pop areas so it's not like they won't have an opportunity every minutes to every couple minutes. You have any idea how long it takes to Haul **** from one side of the empire to the other? In this case, I did 20 jumps perfectly and avoided two camps. I know what I'm doing, but when real life forces me to look away from the god damn screen, Dead.

All i'm saying... I'm sorry I didn't have the hour and a half of CONSTANT ATTENTION required to keep my ass alive. :D thanks.

You chose to ship your stuff in a ship that requires constant attention rather than lack of economic incentive to stay alive.

Had you put your 300m in a freighter, it would have made it. An Orca would have made it. Had you put it in a courier contract, it would have made it (or your money back).

You were cheap, you weren't attentive enough to make up for it, you got caught.

When RL forces you to look away, dock up if your in a loot piƱata.

And complaining about Empire Logistics? Really?

I never saw this, but its pretty good xD

And I swear to god I wasn't trolling last night when I posted that up, though a bit drunk. It's kinda fun now to keep it going now. And I would like to point out there's a difference between being cheap and being new. ORCAS ARE AMAZING I WANT ONE OMGGGGG.

Not happening for at least 26 days. KK?
