Best thing about the Rokh is the bus/train puns.

In all seriousness though, the Rokh is fairly versatile among Caldari ships. It's bonused for large hybrid turrets. You'll want to train up through the turret tree if you want to use those. If you do, you could go blasters if you wanted, or snipe with railguns.

There are some other semi-common builds where people ignore hybrids altogether and use torps/cruise missiles and neutralizers. Those are pretty fun builds, but you'll require training in missiles, instead of gunnery, and Energy Emission Systems.

Rokhs are usually buffer shield tanked to take advantage of their bonus, though I have seen a pretty funny active tanking Rokh in PvP (it worked out surprisingly well, though he eventually capped out).

Really though, it comes down to what you want to do with the Rokh. Like many skill training plans, you should focus on what you want to do in EVE rather than what you fly. In the examples above, you'd have to seriously split your skill points to fly the Rokh effectively in all those different ways.

EDIT: Oops hit post too fast.

You could overtank it rename it to "Hulk" , put a civilian mining lazor on it, some tractors, some salvagez, head to a local highly hulkageddoned system, and wait for some gankers to bounce off ur hull, Salvage loot dock and repeat till it goes out of style.

What made you decide to train up for the rokh in the first place? And what are the things you enjoy doing in eve right now? those two things can help out people to give you better and more personalized advice

The Rokh: (sad face here)

I trained for it early. I think it's one of the best looking ships in game.
I always thought it was wierd that the Premium Tier 3 Battleship for Caldari... is a gun ship.
But whatever, it gives Caldari a choice for weapons systems.

The problem I see is: No matter how you fit it, some other ship probably does it better.
Torps n Neuts... Phoon does it better.
8 Blasters shield tank... Hype does it better
8 Blasters armor tank... Just don't ok?
Sniper fit... Apoc and Tempest are better
DPS platform... almost every other BS in game is better.
Range issues
Mobilty issues.
PVE... Raven is better.

I have seen some great vids. Regardless of this post, I still love the ship and I own 2. I sit in them with near perfect skills. I just think they are a bad choice to undock in most cases.

Really? Range issues, in a Rokh? Possibly you just fail at piloting?

I guess the answer to your question would be that it does a wide variety of things better than other ships, which tend to be more focused. Also you missed "sniper platform with 8 rails" at which the boat outclasses everything in the game.

Cons:
* The Rokh lacks a damage or rate of fire bonus.
* The Rokh was intended to be a rail sniping ship, and sniping tactics are no longer used thanks to on-grid warping.
* The Rokh is slow for a blaster boat.

Pros:
* The Rokh has a fair number of low slots for a Caldari ship.
* The Rokh has a resist bonus (I think it may be the only tech 1 battleship).
* The Rokh has a good amount of CPU (it is Caldari after all).

I seem to recall recently reading a report by a sniping Rokh pilot. He'd follow people around until they exploded, shooting at them well out of point range. It read like the pilot was having a surprising amount of fun and success at it.

I bring you the Rokh fit that at least two major alliances fly in nullsec atm:

[Rokh, Shieldcat]
Damage Control II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Tracking Enhancer II
Signal Amplifier II

Prototype 100MN MicroWarpdrive I
Medium Capacitor Booster II, Cap Booster 25
Large Shield Extender II
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
EM Ward Field II
Thermic Dissipation Field II

425mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge L
425mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge L
425mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge L
425mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge L
425mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge L
425mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge L
425mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge L
425mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge L

Large Core Defense Field Extender I
Large Core Defense Field Extender I
Large Core Defense Field Extender I

It's a Abaddon with better range projection and less damage (and it works with meta guns).

I was thinking of Blasters when I posted range issues. And also, I looked you up on Battleclinic to see all your Rokh experience.

Possibly you fail at comprehension? Clearly you fail at piloting.

What's the range on that?

They somehow managed to get every freak and creep in the universe in this one game, and then somehow managed to let them take it over, and then they somehow managed to stick us right smack in the middle.

It's a great choice for T1 battleship if you are running shield fleet incursions!
Yes I know that cross faction are all the rage. For those a bit more casual and running T1 Rokh is top of the list.

Also has a lot to offer for shield fleet pvp.

Good tank and easy on your logistics.

Rokh's are just fine. I run an active tanked shield boosted Rokh for Forsaken Hubs all day. High skill requirements though.
