CCP penalizing lower standings by artificially increasing the % decrease from a standings hit?

I recently ran an Amarr Storyline, knowing full well I would impact my Minmatar standings. My Amarr jumped from 2.2 to 2.9 and my Minmatar went from 2.45 to 1.85 (approximates).
If I understand it correctly, when my standings are 10, I would go from 10 to 9.4 on a 6% standing loss. If my standings are only 2.45, then I would go to 1.85 on a 6% standing loss, which is actually a 24.5% standing loss. I would say the derived standing percentage of -6% as shown in my Minmatar standings is misrepresenting the facts, yet it is working as intended. Not only that, but it seems CCP is penalizing people with lower standings by artificially increasing the percentage decrease they suffer from a standings hit.

link to math formulas etc.

Actually starting at 10, you would drop to 8,8, 6% of 20, standing losses are calculated
from difference between your current and -10, so if you are above 0 you will loose more
than you gain(if the percentage loss/gain is the same, which they rarely are)

nod, the wiki is incorrect in terms of standing loss.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

The scale is an exponential scale, not linear.
Once you grasp that, all will be well.

An arbitrary 5% loss at 8.00 is greater if compared to a loss at 3.00.
Keep in mind, the % shown in the details is not to be taken literally - as with a lot of other EVE mechanics.

Also, Amar is big, Minmatar is small.
