Hi guys, i activated my accounts today and im wondering which ship to get for lvl 4 missions.

I am considering:

Abaddon
Apocalypse
Apocalypse Navy Issue
Sacrilege
Absolution
Legion

I'm looking to find out which ship gives the most bang for my buck, which is the safest choice and which would outperform all the others.
My budget doesnt stretch far enough to purchase a Marauder ship yet, even tho i can fly them.

Any input in the matter would be appreciated.

Sincerely,
Riven

From that list, probably a Napoc:

Abaddon could also work but it's just plain harder to fly well.

confirming solid fit. if you have shield skills and $$, buy a nightmare instead.

I should buy an Ishtar.

Looks solid, downgrading from faction to T2 wont make much of a difference i assume?

Nah. Go for it. It will more than get the job done with T2 fits.

T2 Pulse Poc with AN Multi/Scorch is a solid lvl4 mission runner, Nightmare if you have ISK and shield skills.

Navy apoc is a great lvl 4 ship, i use almost the same set-up as the one posted except i use 4 hardners and 1 T2 CCC, cap stable with good DPS.

If you have amarr BS to 5 the range is very good, if not drones and range is about 55km still doable.

Oracle - works like a charm from 100 km , really ... Blink

I'm a diplomat. Sometimes i throw 425mm wide briefcases at enemy. Such is EVE.

I flew a navy issue for around 5 months doing level 4's until i moved to a CNR. I had T2 pulses on my apoc and killed a bit faster then my CNR but the CNR can hit all types so thats what i fly today. Navy Apoc is a solid choice. The abaddon is also a tanking beast. I would pick one of those two.

The only mission my T2 fit Napoc had trouble with was the Blockade when I screwed up the triggers.

It will serve you well as long as you don't do something stupid.Big smile

thats normaly my mission boat does a good job,
and even with cheap T1 multis it two shots the bs´s in damsel...so no problem if your drones trigger kruul Big smile
tanks as hell...the range could be a bit better but with scorch you hit +50k and that should be sufficient...

I'd probably use a megabeam abaddon or a megapulse apoc.

abaddon is a bit of a cap beast, and the apoc tends to just have a ton of cap.

and I wouldn't completely count out the geddon navy issue (I had a bunch of fun efting this, a mega pulse version looks like it could do pretty well and cost a reasonable amount)

He did mention cost as an issue, and that fit isn't exactly going to make one comfortable against the random disconnect or juicy-killmail-seeker (I personally know people who derive endless fun from alpha strikes on undock). I fly a navy armageddon when I feel like doing some Amarr missions from time to time, and it performs nicely. It's terrible against Guristas though, and sortof average against Angel.

Low:
Imperial Navy Heat Sink x3 (T2 will not suffice for fitting reasons)
Energized Adaptive T2 x2
mission specific T2 hardeners x2
Large Armor Repairer T2

Med:
Cap Recharger T2
100MN Afterburner T2 (personal taste)
Tracking Computer T2 x2 (use scripts intelligently)

High:
Mega Pulse T2 x7
Utility High Slot (I use tractor and grab meta4 crap if it's in range)

Rigs:
Energy Discharge Elutriation T1
Capacitor Control Circuit T1 x2

Scorch hits out to however far you can lock, close range ammo ~35km, both in the range of 700 turret dps depending on skills/implants. The capacitor can be shaky, so it's not something to learn triggers in. To make it really solid, swap the T2 membranes for faction membranes (or get a CPU implant), then put on a medium capacitor booster - however I don't mission enough to bother doing this.

I doubt it could handle Enemies Abound 5 solo, get a friend or a 750M+ ship for that, and Guristas missions will be snooze fests, but it burns through everything else just fine.

Haha i tried a tachyon pve fit once, once. I feel tach fits belong on snipers/instapop alpha in pvp.

I did purchase a Napoc, at 860 dps it's performing nicely, as long as i dont neglect the triggers or generally dont pay attention.
Does Amarr have a braindead ship for lvl 4's? As in, can tank it all semi-afk while eating a sammich in each hand whilst popping BS' left and right?

tachs on a paladin or nightmare work awesome, but on any other ship it just feels a bit rough trying to get everything on. and I did more or less admit that the navy geddon fit was eft warrioring :p

and I'd say one of the apoc variants would be the most easy to make into a braindead ship. the huge cap should make it pretty easy to set up a perma run dual LAR setup. although I usually find with permarun setups that my dps is so low I go braindead.

Did that with a tengu and a couple hot pockets the other day. If you need a semi-afk boat, I would actually recomend a sentry Domi. Not as entertaining as an amarr boat, but if you're semi-afk then you're probibly not expecting fun anyways.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."
