-Advanced mining with required multi-tasking and activity with great rewards would be cool.
-A advanced bounty hunter contract - and marketplace with new tracking tools would be nice.
-Dust players boarding stations and ships with combat areas would be neat.
-Greater NPC trafic (cargo ships, freighters) around stations and trade routes would be cool (NPC haulers)
giving real pirate players new targets.
-Dangersous elements in space such as electric clouds and black holes leading to death.
- I support OP, I think new ideas never is a bad thing.

There was talk a while back about anoms and missions being revamped to have a several hard to kill cooperating ships, instead of a mass of easy to kill ships. this should add a new element.

What i fantasize about, is "FIS" flying in space. eve would go to a new level if i could fly an assault ship with a joy stick. omg, i would **** in my pants over flying in space

Yes, I complain about things I don't like.

Honestly, I think the ship rebalancing alone will accomplish this.

Ideally, it's going to go from "what's the best ship in this class" to "what do I feel like flying today".

It will help, but I guess what I'm after is a shot of that "great unknown" feeling. Making the Eagle a viable ship will be a great and noble deed, but it won't change the route from G-0 to to HED-GP

I guess this is why, despite the two black eyes and the sleeping with my sister thing, I still love the WiS project and think that I have a future with it. It's the biggest potential opportunity for new things to do.

EDIT: I suppose what I'm saying is that while I love the new "actually fixing things" CCP, I also miss the "crazy icelandic ambition" CCP just a little.

When I was a boy there was a promise by all the vissionaries we'd be living in space by now. I'm kind of thinking as I'm getting on in life that those aspirations are very unlikley for myself.

Luckily we have a few billion years left before the suncream wont really help with our Sun or Andromeda crashes into the Milky way, so hopefully someone will work out the science that does something to propell the possibility of the human race continuing somewhere out there. Though ultimatley with the model of universe expansion as is currently understood by science we are all ultimatley doomed to low energy particles it seems, so you could ask why bother?

Either way CCP have shown they are capable of putting small rodents into space, so at least they are using the monies we give them to help propell the longevity of our species. Maybe this is more important in the bigger picture, a buisness plan that at least considers the long term effects to subscription payments?

I'd love to see something done to lowsec space, so there is actually a reason to go there, rather than it being a nuisance on the way to 0.0.

Also making mining an active activity rather than passive AFK sleepover on a belt would be nice to see.

It would be really nice to see something new.

I've only been playing for 2 years so the only thing i've seen is the implementation of PI and the addition of the player designed BC's. I only started playing this game because of the promises made about incarna but that was a massive let down. So yeah, keep up the good work of polishing EVE CCP but don't forget to give your gameplay design team something to do.

I have been playing EVE for almost 6 years now (just 3 months to go until that anniversary).

It has been 3 years since there was something new to do in a spaceship. More than half my EVE "life" has been since the Apocrypha expansion was released.

I'm not going to rehash the ~mistakes were made~ period of Dominion - Incarna. I am most definitely not going to complain that CCP has committed a year's worth of development effort - desperately needed, long overdue, hugely welcome - on what has essentially been a massive polishing and detail-work project. It was unquestionably the right thing to do, and I'm glad they did it.

The new battlecruisers are fantastic - I love all of them. The tiercide project is revolutionising T1 frigates, which is so obviously a good thing I can hardly think of it without tears coming to my eyes - and I'm totally looking forward to seeing what happens when the project is extended to the T1 cruiser range. You've made EVE beautiful with the new nebulae and with the V3 project. You've even pretty much "fixed lag", for God's sake! How awesome is that? That stuff is all brilliant and I love it. I have even learned to get along with the new inventory thingamujig, after some practice.

But three years, guys.

For my 6th EVE birthday present, what I'd really really like is for you to tell me that there are going to be new things to do coming to EVE. You've been doing a fantastic job of improving EVE; now I want to see you expanding it.

September 24th, 22:34, 2012: I'll be online, logged in, starry-eyed and hopeful.

Love,

Malc.

Very wise words. What a pity that not everyone cares about EVE like you do.

Honestly...I have to respectfully disagree here. There is already *so much* to do in eve. Taking some time to go back and refine the existing systems while they build up the framework for Dust isn't such a bad thing. Old ships we've always loved by couldn't use are suddenly viable. There's always the lowsec problem to be addressed at some point, and fine tuning incursions is just coming down the pipe. I'm happy with their design direction following Monoclegate, and for the time being, I'm content with redesigning and adjusting the game as is.

Furthermore....eve is player driven. By rehashing and adjusting the tools we use to make content, they are really just enriching the game by proxy, wouldn't you agree? In the last 3 years we've seen TONS of player driven content, and in just the last month or two we're seeing a full blown political conflict between highsec carebears, and the goonswarm privateering effort of funding suicide gankers. Don't tell me there's nothing new going on.

How's about some 'fluidic space'.. a la 8472.. that could introduce a whole new tier of everything.. ore, planets, ships, modules, npc's, etc.

"Going on" is not the same as "to do." It's great to have all this stuff going on in the background, but if you're not one of the prime movers and shakers (and largely playing the meta-game), it *has* been a while since something significantly different has been added (like the introduction of anomalies, invention, POSs... things which add entirely new motivations, rather than just ways to do the same things slightly differently). WiS would have been such a thing, if it had really existed. The ring mining actually has some promise, as do several of the other ideas that leak out from Iceland every so often... but it'd be nice to see signs that they're drawing near rather than just sitting on a drawing board. No it's not about Soon™. After 6 years you stop struggling against Soon™. It's about direction.
