Corporate Contracts - Courier

Hi Everyone,

I'm just starting out with courier contracts for my corp. I'd like your help to understand what happens to a contract that is accepted by a person and then listed as failed.

Is it possible to "recover" the contents of that contract somewhere? I thought I read somewhere that if the contract fails, I get the collateral.

In my case, I have about 10 contracts all accepted by the same user and all listed as failed. I had set both the reward and the collateral to the same amount.

Thanks

There's no way of getting the items back.

The collateral should be used to cover the value of the items being moved.
If you listed a very low collateral on expensive items, then that pilot just kept it to himself.

OK That's what I thought. Thanks for confirming this. Next time I'll make sure to put down a higher collateral. :)

Contracts can be used smartly aswell
if you know the sell price of an item in jita, and you know that locally it sells for much less, you can set a contract for a "mid" price to sell all your items instantly as soon as he'll fail the contract.

This saves you the trouble of setting up sell orders in jita and updating them, and shifts all the problems to the pilot who took the contract.

Ofcourse you can never be sure he'll take it :P

Or, if you happen to have an idea of which route he'll be moving the package, you could "hire" some gankers to gank him, thereby forcing him to fail the contract - giving you (potentially) more than what the goods are worth (depending on your collateral amount).

You are quite a naughty man mr. Dezolf, certainly no honorable personage would do such a thing.

The person who accepted the contract gets to keep the items if he fails contract (unless he lost them when e.g. he was ganked). So you could try contacting him and negotiating getting your items back.
