this place may be as scammer ridden as Jita local.

Please take care to check whoever will propose you to take your money: look at their previous investments, there are some who have done 4-5-7 succesful investments before. While it's not indicative of future performance (anyone could scam any time even after 1000 succesful bonds), it's more prudent for a newbie investor to stick with them.

If you search the forum a little you will even find Jake Andarius threads detailing who has good and bad past records.

Hello dennis.

I dont know how many ISK you have in EVE, but if you have a surplus of 250m ready for investing, odds are that you could put them to better use by investing in something that boosts your own ISK/hour rate, like a ship with more DPS, a better mining ship, buying a few skills, or doing some trading in general. If you watch the market from time to time when you fly through different regions you will encounter many situations where you will be happy to have that extra 250 million isk to take advantage of this chance (watch out for margin trading scams while doing so).
In the next few weeks of increasing your wealth you can start reading this forum more, get used to the different offers, read the questions the trolls ask regarding the offering and make a checklist of stuff you want to ask yourself when a new offer comes around.

If you really want to invest, there are plenty of bonds that pop up regularly, and half of them are pretty sound I would say (some might have a 1b minimum though.)

I must say I'm on Gatan Hahran's boat, whether he likes it or not. Investing in other people is not really something you should get into unless you already have more isk than you could possibly need for yourself, like bankers and stuff. It's very prone to scams and even if it isn't a scam, it's entirely possible they simply won't be able to pay up for whatever reason it may be.
Nay you should invest in shiny new and fancy ships along with top notch modules that'll help you build up a fortune on your own.
