right-click pilot to TRADE has problem

Right-clicking a pilot from any other list but the station guest list is problematic. Sometimes the option to trade doesn't appear on pilots that are docked in the same station in nullsec (my alts).

This seems to be character-specific.

I experience the same problem on my main character, but not on my alt (from the same computer). On my main I can't trade with most pilots docked in my station, including my alt. I can, however, trade from my alt to my main.

I'm experiencing the exact same issue as Snake & Emeos.

2 paid accounts, main cannot trade items in the station guest sidebar with anyone, alt can trade perfectly fine and can also open up the trade dialogue with my main.

This happens regardless of who is or isn't logged on at the same time (i.e. same computer).

Main account is from a Steam key, however additional time has been added.
Alt account is an upgraded trial account.

Tbh it's pretty easy to work around but annoying nonetheless.

This is some cache specific issue.
If some character docks (or login in station) with active station tab any other than "Guests" - this character do not have "Trade" option in context menu in all chats.

Workaround is very simply - if you do not have "Trade" context menu - try to switch to "Guests" tab in station environment and "Trade" context menu will apear in all other chat channels.

It seems to be that the only way for client to get information about docked pilots at the same station is to load "Guests" tab in station environment. If this tab does not loaded by some reason - the client do not know about other pilots at the same station and do not show "Trade" context menu for those pilots in all chat channels.

That does not always work. I regularly right click on a name in the guest list and see no "Trade" option.

Confirming this problem has been around for a long time... I'm actually surprised this is first time a dev asks for a bug report about it... our work around has normally been to ask the guy we want to open trade with, to open it for us when we don't have the trade option ourselves... its quite common actually, is this the first time you heard about it ccp? Just shows how few people actually bug report stuff (maybe you should do a dev blog about it to bring awareness? And the promisses of riches for when someone finds a bug you were unaware about... rewarded by a months gametime (not a plex or maybe plex idk))

You should also remind people of this on a monthly basis

I've had this bug for a long time... probably since incursions or so. I think it has to do with the client not realizing you're in the same station when you go from not being docked to being docked. I haven't found a way to reliably reproduce it. I rarely do station trades with anyone other than alts, so I don't even know how widespread the bug is. My workaround is to alt-tab to initiate the trade from the other account. It's been a while since I unsubbed my alts, so I can't recall which context menus do and do not show it (i.e. I think it's most likely not to show on a chat channel's context menu, but I do not recall whether or not the guests window would have it, though I'm kinda thinking it usually does.)

Trade menu option is only visible for the character that was already docked. So you have 3 alts:
- alt1 docks
- alt2 docks: alt1 can trade alt2; alt2 can not trade alt1
- alt3 docks: alt1 and alt2 can trade alt3; alt3 can not trade anyone

I have always thought it was by design, it works like that since... years?

Changing to the guests tab is new to me, I'll try that later!

If I go down the list of guests in a station I can only trade with about half of them.

edit: oh yeah most of the time they can open trade windows with me though.
