Yeah, I would be kind of insulted as a miner at these changes tbh.

I can understand the new ORE Frigate for beginners.....but there is indeed NOTHING HERE for the Veteran Miner.

New Player Experience is being worked on, that's for sure and "**OBVIOUS**", but what about Player RETENTION ?

Nothing? You Obviously didn't read. The Hulk/Mackinaw/skiff are getting there roles reworked, and balaced to have the same(ish) survivability. We're actually getting a choice for something OTHER than a hulk for the job.

oh and moar cargospace :D no more need for extenders in the lows, DCU II and Armor plate here i come!

Heheheehehe.

More like they just fill their lows with MLUs like before and continue whining they can't tank their hulk without "giving up too much yield".

For a carebear giving up 0.00001m3 of yield is too much yield.

Things are only impossible until they are not.

Also not that I am comlaining, I understand the tank to yield trade off and it makes sense the bigger ship will hold more ore, but I'm still trying to wrap my mind around how a cruiser sized vessel gets a better tank than a battleship sized one. Lol

You make a valid point, good Sir or Madam.

They aren't giving your hulk a massive HP boost if you actually read it. Hulks are going to be pretty much the same as now.

You mean it'll still have the hull hp of a heavy drone?Lol

You do realize there's a midpoint between the BS hp of the new skiff and that of an Ogre, right? And since baseline for current Hulk is so low, the increase would indeed qualify as a "massive boost" relative to before.

The new Ore Frigate looks freaking awesome. I just love the new designs the art department is putting out these days, very nice work indeed. I just hope they make mining ops a bit more multitask (operation itself) and challenging.
Also looking forward to the new Minmatar ships designs V3, can´t wait for those.
Keep up the good work CPP!

CCP was doing fine when they had 10k subscribers.

yeah i mean you can get this battleship-class tank now but miners can't bear to sacrifice yield

Show me the fitting on a hulk that gives you the same 98k EHP that my Rattlesnake has and I'll believe everything you have to say from now until forever.

FFS CCP stop introducing more crap, FIX THE BROKEN STUFF FIRST!

Honestly this whole expansion will be about trying to wow the new guys, well guess what, listen to the Fing community and implament some of their ideas on how to make the game more new guy friendly instead of adding more useless content.

But when they don't play the game it really shouldn't matter what they think of a ship.......

I fully support the proposed changes. They provide a great balance between tank and yield, and introduce specialization rather than progression through the barges and exhumers. Good job CCP for taking a balanced approach to giving miners more options without giving in to their whines.

But now maybe at least Procurers will have a reason to exist beyond being consumed by Skiff production. And, while I agree that there will be a large contingent of people who will only look at m3/minute, having sensible alternatives to "rediculous," "tissue," and "obnoxious" (hulk, covetor, battleship...) will be nice.

Still not convinced on the frigate, though the artwork is pretty nice looking.

As a miner, I have some mixed feelings about these proposals.

Sounds like I'll have to buy a new line of ships, and park my Hulks permamently as I don't mine in fleets. The new frigate looks very cool, but it sounds too weak to use to ninja mine stuff out of nullsec...maybe it'll be really agile or cloakable or something.

The changes to the middle-sized mining ships sound pretty good to me.

The big problem with mining under the current mechanics is that it's so boring you fall asleep, so giving us a tanky ship with a huge cargo hold, *and crappy yield*, will just encourage more of the same sort of AFK while mining mindset. It'll be like mining with a hauler is today.

However, maybe they are changing these ships with an eye on future mining mechanics where they might really shine. These days, miners are looking for max yield to minimize the time spent on a crappy gameplay paradigm.

That would be CCP. Besides, anyone who logs in and selects a pilot is playing, no matter how much you do not want to see that.
