Make new ACCOUNTS untargetable for the first 14 days of its existance in HISEC. that way new guys have time to do their story arcs, get used to flying and so on in hisec. This would only stop players targetting them obviously. That way, no strange rules, no areas where they can or cant be shot, you simply cant shot a new account in hisec for 14 days.

Go to lowsec, nullsec or wormholes and normal rules apply.

But what if the newbie is the aggressor? Not fun going up against an indestructible Cruiser/Destroyer!

Space. It seems to go on and on forever. But then you get to the end and a gorilla starts throwing barrels at you.

Make it so until account is over 14 days that they also cant target players.

Actually youd have to make it so 14 day old and under accounts cant do damage to players and vice versa, people need to be able to scan them as ccp would have to make it an exploit to ship high value cargo with new accounts, otherwise people will create an account and ship plex and so on to jita in perfect safety, that would have to be a petiionable exploit resulting in a perma ban.

So basically players of under 14 days can not do damage to other players and vice versa can not receive damage from players. This eliminates smartbombs too, but allows cargo scanning etc to pick up on people exploiting that invulnerabilty.

Trust me, I almost know what I'm doing.

Then you are spoiling a nubs fun as they cant pvp for 14 days making them useless to corps/alliances. Part of the glory that is EVE is that 30 minutes into the game you can be out in 0.0 tackiling a carrier for a fleet to kill.

I wish CONCORD were still tankable, there is no reason for them not to be so. If you commit a crime deserving of a concord response then this should mean certain death but with enough tank/logi you should be able to tank them. The longer you tank the more concord ships arrive until the dps is untankable.

Also, if you commit a crime in CONCORD controlled space, you shouldn't be able to grind your standing up, instead you should have to hand yourself in and receive a skill point hit.

What happened to Eve being a harsh, cutthroat universe? Hell, my first few days consisted of dying and getting podded in a highsec war, because I didnt know wtf was going on :P

This isnt WoW... if the newbies want protection, go make some friends. But that's just my opinion

No we have to bubble wrap the newbies so that they think they are entitled to be left alone so that they grow up to become the next generation of highsec carebears who think they are entitled to be able to run missions 23/7 without ever having to interact with another person.

I'm all for making the game suck less for new players, but threatening everyone who plays the game with a ban if they do anything at all to a new player is completely contrary to the spirit of the game.

Hell, there is a trailer that starts with a newbie getting ganked and how he proceeded from there to get revenge. The policy of forcing people to avoid new players is literally the opposite of how the game is advertised and just sets up new players for a bigger fall later.

You missed the important part where I said in HISEC... In lowsec, nullsec and WHs none of this would apply. It allows new ACCOUNTS (not just a new character) to stay in hisec safely for 14 days before being thrown into the fire IF they choose to. Possibly have teh ability to opt out of the safety at any point too, non returnable...

Trust me, I almost know what I'm doing.

This sounds something like:
"But, judge... I didn't know how old she was. You don't expect me to ask for an ID of every girl I meet, do you?"

Moral of the story: If you are not sure, approach only Battleships and 40+ year old "cougars". You know that they are experienced and even though they may look dangerous,if you engage them successfully you could be rewarded beyond your wildest dreams. Alternatively, you can try to stay out of places like noob systems.

except that it's not like that at all.

Vets have multiple characters on multiple accounts, CCP has said the GM's can easily tell who is new, but we cannot.
